How would the 1996 version of Tyson fare against the Klits?

Tyson was still a pressure speedy fighter at that time with a real good chin. He would have beaten both Klitschkos in my opinion. Even Emanuel Steward admits in his latest interview Wlad is not a physical guy, meaning he cant fight! Vitali doesnt punch hard enough to keep Tyson off and Wlad folds like a deer in headlights.

  3. A 1996 version of Tyson would have been smoked by both of the Klits, Tyson always had problems against tall fighters who had a hard jab and could box, at 5-11 he would have been too little to intimidate them, and after 2 or 3 rounds Tyson would have shot his load and would have been picked apart..
Tyson would have been to mentally weak for a long hard tough fight, and would have found a way out just like he did in the 2nd Holy fight:deal ..
Tyson of 1996, wasn't even close to his prime of 1988...

I agree about Wlad, but "Vitali doesn't punch hard enough" is terribly unjust.

Which tall fighters gave him trouble?? He had more trouble with shorter fighters really.

I think his power is a bit overated, hes a decent puncher, but not a Razor Ruddock Lennox Lewis puncher, and I believe his brother punches much harder.

both wlad and vitali have excellent power, theres no doubt about that.
theres no way in hell wlad beats tyson - he would be like corrie sanders on speed.
wlad deserves MAJOR respect for coming back from that loss and rebuilding his career because is a ****ing hard thing to do, but if it was tyson that day instead of sanders i dont think he would have been able to find his way again.

wlad was always touted as the better prospect when the brothers were younger and fighting out of germany, and its a shame that in the end wlad probably has better skills than vitali but vitali has the chin.

  10. Buster was tall, Tucker was tall, even Mitch Green who had 10% of Tyson's talent lasted the distance..

I think Vitali has the better skills to be a successful pro fighter, not only because of his chin, but mostly because of his movement. Hes tall and awkward. How many guys 6'7" can box on their toes and fight at range like him. That being said Tyson is a whole different story than anything either Klitschko faced. Whatever lennox did to Vitali, Tyson could do it better, he was great at getting under taller fighters punches and making it inside. His speed and quickness was still there in 96, but his defense and combination punching wasnt, but I still think its enough to get inside and do enough damage to make Vitali fall apart.

  12. Then get your ass outta here and go to the classic forums..

If you don't give a **** don't post here dumbass...

Depends on which Wlad. 2003 type pre Sanders Wlad? Or Manny Steward Wlad.

I think Wlad has come a long way and today's version would give even a prime Tyson a terrible beating. Tyson would be frustated with jabs and tons of holding for the first 4-5 rounds (like vs. Lewis) and then be taken apart.

Lasting the distance doesnt mean he had trouble with them. A lot of those guys specifically Tucker were in survival mode the entire fight. Douglas beat Tyson with a style that Vitali would never fight. What about all the other tall fighters that Tyson dispatched very quickly.

Tyson has always been overrated people tend to look at him and rate the 80's version who admittedly feasted on poor competition.. And yes tyson had problems with taller opponents and both Klitschko's would be a bad match up for him just like Douglas who is not nearly as big or talented .. Also lewis beats any version of tyson and i think wlad of now would too.:deal
