The rumors proved true, Toney actually managed to get his ass in shape for once. It may be too late at this point of his career but I certainly want to see a good conditioned Toney back in the ring again. Damn, he definitely looks healthy and ready in this video:

I feel sorry for Toney. He should be long retired but it seems his bank account doesn't agree. So he's trying to talk his old ass into new fights. Embarrassing.

I'm not sure how superb he looks considering you don't see him working out at all, just sitting chatting, but I still love to hear James's thoughts, he is one of the only real characters in boxing. To be honest, I don't think he could compete with the Klitschkos purely because of their size, I wouldn't want those fights to happen because it's right that James should retire without ever being stopped, and a referee stoppage would be a realistic possibility against either Klit. James is right about one thing though, he knows how to fight, and his skill level is so much higher than anyone else in the hw division he could indeed cause another shock before he hangs them up (which I hope is soon). I could easily see Toney shock someone with the skill/technique of a Haye or an Arreola. But whatever happens, the man has been a legend.

Hes right. He can be 5'9" and underpowered and still win because he can fight. Hes also right in saying Emanuel Steward doesnt want any part of him. Emanuel Steward is the first to admit boxing needs excitement, and a trash talker like James brings that, yet he waits for a fighter like Haye to shoot off his mouth before he makes a move. Theres a reason neither Klitschko hasnt fought James, and its not because it would be an easy win.

At 40, this is the best he can possibly get into, his belly has gone. You also have to consider that Toney has no fight scheduled at the moment... Besides, we all agree that Toney will never look like Mr. Universe.

As for the Klitschko's, I agree that Toney is indeed a bit delusional. He should first get a solid win against top opposition before challenging them.

It looks like he is a great shape.

Still I hope he books fight soon, because he isn’t getting any younger.
Maybe fighting against some of those top-10 pretenders in WBC or IBF rankings, would give him a mandatory shot.

Like Maskaev and Ray Austin for example.

Agreed, a fight with either of those 2 would be a smart move... Let's wait and see, rumors have it that Toney will fight on the undercard of Klitschko vs. Arreola

Toney can get another title shot if he beats 2-3 decent conteders in short order. He can't wait another couple of years, he should fight 3 guys within 12 months and then he'd be mandatory somewhere.

Love Toney to death, but he would get beat up by the Klitschko's at this point in his career.

James Toney is probably the only fighter in the world that can look like that and be said to be "in shape".
