Sorry fellas if you were expecting Juan Ma to become the next trinindad your hopes should be gone by now. Tito fought with so much pride and never backed down from a challenge not even against Hopkins. It seems that Juan is coming up with all sorts of excuses not to face Caballero. Why wouldnt you want to unify tittles in your home town against a fighter you have a good chance of winning? Oh yeah sanctioning fees, my bad. atsch
I think juanma knocks caballero out. give him some time to work things out with arum, i can't see him letting this go.
its only a matter of time! you cant blame the man for wanting to get paid. after all......it is a business!
Paid more than Izzy and Rafa for fighting Caballero? I simply think this fight is too much risk for Juan Ma. Hes not a main stream fighter yet and if he looses this fight this would almost eliminate his chances of becoming one.
I dont think he'd handle Cab, Caballero is a good fighter, not amazing though. Juanma is overrated but could be great, doubt it though.
Tell me about it, look at my username. at least i can front and say its short for juan manuel marquez until JuanMa lopez grows his balls back.
the argument is about ability. JuanMa backing down from a Caballero fight means **** all. You think Caballero is the one who would take JuanMa's legacy past Tito's???? The **** are you comparing Caballero to Hopkins for? I will bet you any amount you want that by the time he retires JuanMa will have fought at least 3 fighters who are much greater than Caballero anyways. Lets make it clear. Who a fighter chooses to fight has no impact on how good he actually is. Overall ability is what makes the difference. Hatton fought Floyd and Pac and look where he is now.
Im complaining about him not fighting any fighter with skills remotely close to Caballeros(Penalose was older and smaller) and he wants to get paid like he has. Hes about to fight Rogers Mtagwa, come on now.
i'm serious. If JuanMa fights some bum or Caballero, its still JuanMa. Fighting the best fighters is to prove to the fans how good you are, but it doesn't magically make you a better fighter because your opponent is better. get what I'm saying. Just cause JuanMa doesn't fight Caballero doesn't mean that he's not as good as he would have been if he had fought him, apart from the experience that he gains in that fight, he is still the same fighter. You fight the best to show to the world how good you are, but becoming a good fighter is about natural ability and hard training. That part of the work is done in the gym, not in the ring.
not necessarily though. There are fights where you gain alot of experience and there are some where you don't. You got hung up on a detail, not the main point.
And the Caballero fights is one where he definitely will, win lose or draw. Whether he knocks him out or gets ktfo.
Thats debatable... but the experience that he gains is not the point of my post anyways. The point is that the quality of your opposition is not what primarily determines how good you are as a fighter, just how you are perceived by the fans. How good you are depends mostly on natural ability and good training. Therefore just cause JuanMa doesn't fight Caballero doesn't mean that all of a sudden he sucks, while before Caballero started talking, JuanMa was an amazing fighter.
Did Pac get better after the first fight with JMM? Ofcourse he found out he could not depend on one hand. Better competition = better fighter.
