I have watched a full career set in the past few days...... It's just clear that he is the best fighter of all time. Beat every man he ever faced, avenged all defeats by stoppage, won the Olympics, everything. Beat Holyfield easily the first time before confirming it in the rematch, Tyson ran until he had no choice, Bowe just...... ran..... Bruno was KO'd. :deal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ivlp8aVDuxE
I feel that his revenge win against McCall didn't prove much. Officially its a stoppage but in reality its just one big :think
Lewis is the best ever, agree with you BeeBraw, NO DOUBT. At his best, Lewis was Too big too smart too strong for anyone. His style was too smart to ever take beatings. Lewis beat the game, the game didn't beat him at the end. Ali, Tyson, Louis, Holmes all got whopped at the end, Lewis was smarter than all them, he knew exactly when to say goodbye. Beat every man he fought. He may not have been as colorful, charismatic, explosive as the other greats but he was simply better. Smarter. Class and dignity all the way. Never had to call anyone a gorilla or ugly bear. Sportsman. Brought grace and nobility to boxing. Lennox Lewis was the greatest there ever was. Even Foreman says so.
Even Foreman, who has named Ali and Louis the greatest at some point? Even him? There is not "no doubt" that anyone it the #1. It's not a sensible or reasonable thing to say. Personally, I think he is a reasonable choice, but the chin problem keeps him off the #1 spot for me.
I think the shots he took, compared to the 2 that finished him (one he did get up from and wasn't that bad compared to some fighters who get stopped getting up from a kd), suggest that those 2 punches could have been anomalies/right on the button shots. Both were pretty big/huge shots - and it's telling that both times he was reputed to be quite unmotivated for the fights. I'd have him #3 heavyweight all time, and top 40 P4P.
Good lord, just when you thought the overrating of Lewis had reached its limit, somebody takes it even further. Sorry, can't be the greatest of all time when you get taken out early by two ordinary contenders when you held the belt. :-(
A good example of the army of "God save the queen" lads that overhyped Lewis since his retirement. They think he is better than Ali :rofl This content is protected
Exactly......................................McCall was a "crack addict" and Knocked the **** out of Lewis...................................and Rahman was a no body......................................a nobody, until he knocked the **** out of Lewis..........................Also Vitali was beating that ass hands down...............
