And you know this, how? Do you controled Pavlik's fight schedule? Do you have a crystal ball that shows where he will be in 2011?

No, i dont have a crystal ball! But unless Pavlik get 5 fights like that before 2011.. wich i doubt, i dont see him overtake Kessler!

You could make a decent case that Pavlik has the better resume.

But head to head, at SMW ?

    Kessler by a country mile.

I don't think so. He would be a 24-0 American greatly skilled and Cooooool fighter!... just like Lacy.

Check the thread. I said Kessler is ahead even now. And for what it's worth, I too am picking Kessler to win the whole thing.

However, suppose Pavlik blows Williams right out of the ring. P4P Williams is far more established than Dirrell or Ward, plus he beat Winky who would beat 7 shades of **** out of 95% of Abraham's resume. And then entertain the possibility of Pavlik/Bute at MSG next year. That's already being talked about. Pavlik could win that, and if he did, he did more in two fights than some of these guys will do in 4 fights, and sustained less wear and tear, and made more money doing it.

You do make a good point Boo about Kelly deservedly being in the tournament? But let's be real here, HOW DO WE KNOW ARTHUR MAYBE MIGHT HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED Sauerland to put Kelly in there as well. Come on we don't know the inner workings, but I have to agree Kelly being in the tournament instead of Taylor would have been ideal, even though I am quite happy and content with the participants.

If enough people say Pavlik in this thread, I will put up a poll to hear who people think is the better fighter and would win if they meet - for example in the first fight of the Super Six assuming Pavlik was in it.

neither has accomplished a great deal at present but both have the potential to do so.

Pavlik instead of Taylor or Dirrell or better: Pavlik and Bute instead of Taylor and Dirrell. That would've been a perfect tournament setup.

I would favor Kessler, but only slightly. However, Kessler's opponents weren't as dangerous as Pavlik's up to now.

Kesslers title winning fight over JT, is a better win than any off Kesslers, also he won the linear title while Kess didnt.

However Kess is clearly the better fighter and would embarrass Kelly were they to fight. Also once Kess wins the super six his CV will look MUCH better than Pavliks.

Exactly what I've been saying. Hopefully within three years they'll both have amazing resumes and the head to head matter will have been resolved.

The tournament is going to be great fun. I think the competition level is very, very good, and with the various style clashes we should get some fantastic fights. My only beef is with those who assume that the tourney winner is automatically #1 in the division. We simply do not know what Bute, Andrade, Balszay, Green, Pavlik, and a few others might do between now and 2011.
