yeah, that's the double edged sword of this. personally, i think cotto is one of the 3 best fights possible for pac at the moment. it's a HUGE step up from what pac fought in oscar and i'll give him a shitload of credit. even though i feel that pac will take him out

Cotto is a difficult fight for Pac. Definitely not what you can call a tune-up fight.

Is is stupid for Team Pac to take it?

Well, if the fight will be a non-title fight, then this one does not make any sense for him or for his team whatever. That is stupidity taken to another level then.

But since it will be a title fight. A big risk, probably worth taking. Not a stupid move then.

I think they under-estimated him a lil bit

Manny is at a stage in his career now where he has to fight someone good, so Cotto is just as good as anyone else. Mosley would have been harder, but Cotto will be interesting if Cotto is not washed up. I think Pacman's corner is hoping the Clottey fight showed some wear and tear on Cotto which they can capitalize on.

Close, but this was more about Arum and Top Rank. I wonder if Arum hopes Cotto wins since Pac is at the end of his career? :think Kind of passes the torch to Cotto. If Pac wins though, he has one more mega fight with Maywhozit. Cotto is pretty much toast though.

Nope it's not a bad move. Pac publicly stated he's going to wait for Marquez/Mayweather one week after his win over Hatton. Mayweather's fight got postponed so they had to pick someone else to stay active as he wasn't going to wait for too long inactive.

The fight with Cotto isn't bad and would be a huge victory, it's better taking that than staying inactive. A win over Cotto would make a fight with Mayweather/Marquez even bigger.

At first Mosley balked at the catch weight, now claims he is willing to come down to 140? :patsch He must need the money pretty bad.
