I know who Evander is, but when we talk about him we talk about HW fighter. These what he did in HW arent addition to his short CW career, but his CW achievements are addition to his HW glory. Same with Adamek (if he stays in CW) - his achievements in LHW will be addition to his CW reign (unless he goes to HW). so: -Evander - superb HW figter with great CW episode - Adamek - superb CW fighter with good LHW episode But if You still want to say that Evander is the best CW ever, then I will not argue with You, I will only mention one name: Rocky Marciano.
He said he was interested in either. Started with the Adamek negotiations falling through...then when that looked dead he stated he would want to fight the winner of that fight. Then the Adamek negotiations got revisited.
Read my post about Robinson. You will understand where I am coming from on my rating of Evander at CW. All fair points tho...other than that Evander's CW resume is still superior to Adamek's by a good margin (De Leon and Qawi are both MUCH better fighters than Cunningham, which is Adamek's best win by far at that weight)...so if we are gonna call Adamek a superb CW, then we HAVE to at the very least say the same about Evander. Supersuperb maybe??? :good
Yeah, maybe. But Adamek is 32yo and still can make a mess But i dont think that he will stay in CW. Its a pity. But if he goes up to HW and win his third-weigt belt it would be something really big. No one done it before to grab all three LHW, CW and HW championships. That was about dreaming, now we have to back on the ground: first Adamek must beat Golota and Hopkins. Both fights will be ****ing tough for him.
Golota fight wont be tough at all , this is a fukin JOKE fight which shouldnt even take place and as much as i love Golota adamek will just embarrass him in there and its really fukin pointless for Andrew to retire after that kind of embarassment infront of like 15 mil Polisch ppl watching it on tv , so i have no idea why the fak he wants the fight to happen oh well i guess its about money , but hes fukin rich already
i respect a fighter who dose what is neccesary to win, be it fan freindly or not. hopkins dosent just clinch becouse he feels like it, he clinches for tactical reasons like repositioning his opponents and disrupting his opponents rythm and im pretty sure that clasifies as ring smarts. there are different ways to take away opponents abilitys then the way pernell did(only one sweet p),and b hop dose it in so many different ways clinching may not be the prettiest but it works. besides dont forget that b hop is 44 years old and hes fighting guys close to half his age.
Adamek has in age and natural cruiser weight power his advantages, besides his rock-solid chin and tremendous die-hard fighting spirit, but he has nowhere close the footwork, positioning, sleekness or punch timing of Hopkins... If you add to this, Bernard's chin, endurance, fitness & athleticism and desire to make it a long-awaited farewell to a tremendous boxing career with a new weight title, it's all Hopkins and his 50th win.
a dont think your brains fully working today. Holyfield would **** all over adamek at cruiserweight, and haye did more at cruiser than adameks done so far so a dont no how you can claim adamek as the best cruiserweight
i don't know why a debate re adamek and holyfield is on. holyfield is an all time great. adamek is one of the more distinguished champs in TODAY'S scene, which is impressive in its own right. i think it should be left like that -at least for now. but de leon is not better than cunningham. qawi is a hall of famer, but he was a blown up 5' 6 light heavy, and arguably not as tough a test as natural cruiser, cunningham. cunningham is one heck of a fighter, one of the fastest ever cruiserweights, skilled, tough, gritty, with many good wins, often away from home (wlod, huck, rothmann, guillermo jones, braithwaite). qawi is excellent but holyfield was very inexperienced and made loads of mistakes in their classic first fight. when evander matured, he made easy work of qawi.
it's a cliche that holyfield would destroy every cruiserweight ever. yes, holy is the best cruiserweight of all time. but guys like adamek, juan carlos gomez, haye, cunningham, would have given him a very good fight.
so you're another indulgent Hopkins fan who wants to say, "ooh, another clinic, Hopkins has won ANOTHER TITLE." Hopkins winning the cruiser title contributes nothing to boxing. He's already had more title fights than most top fighters. Adamek is a quality boxer with power and good handspeed for a cruiser. He has shown adaptability, beating for instance the quick, mobile Cunningham. Hopkins is just going to try and break his rhythm and make it an ugly fight. hopkisn will throw more low blows and head butts than punches...Adamek will win, will probably win ugy - but win he will. Hopkins usually beats ppl who are moving up in weight to fight him. here, he is the smaller man, the older man, the man coming off inactivity...he's picking on the wrong champ, and i think he's doing it because this is one of the few fights that any TV would green light - he's required to do something much more dangerous than normal. I hate this fight. Only positive is that it wil put Adamek on a bigger stage. Adamek wins, gets good money, but gets little credit for beating 40something guy moving up in weight. Hopkins wins: "Hopkins is a legend." Adamek wins: "prime Hopkins would have beaten him." blah, blah.
It's lose-lose for Adamek, I agree. I don't think he can beat Hopkins, because Hopkins is just too wily and slick. That being said, it's like Wrestling a girl in High School. If you win, big deal, because it was against a girl. If you lose, you're the biggest ***** ever because you got beat by a girl...
