Eight-time world boxing champion Roy Jones, Jr. is taking a well-earned day off from his intense training for his fight next Saturday, August 15th, against Jeff “Left Hook” Lacy on the “Hook City” pay-per-view show live from Biloxi, Mississippi. Jones will be attending tonight’s UFC show in Philadelphia to scout Anderson Silva in order to check out his boxing skills in person.

I have to agree with that one, not sure what Anderson is thinking, maybe try someone not quite at Jones level before diving in head first.

Silva has had this obsession with Jones for some time. Im not sure what his reasoning is behind it all but Jones is the wrong guy to fight even at his advanced age if he wants a boxing match. Iv never understood why some MMA fighters flirt with boxing. Just do what you're good at and leave it there. Vitor did the same thing beating up some tin can in a few seconds. Dont know exactly what there trying to prove to thereself.

This is a joke, mma fighters and boxers should not be compared, the sports are different.

I disagree , I would like to see them fight .

I understand but dont care if the sports are different . they are still both greats and no one would be made the fool . you cant compare apples and oranges but they both role and I wonder which one would role the fastest when thrown into a ring of any sort .

Unless one of them gets beat the fight between Silva vs Jones WILL happen next year.

Anderson Silva is my #1 MMA fighter.... I see no reason in attempting to fight a pro boxer like Roy Jones, Jr.... Silva needs to focus on beating Griffin, taking care of Henderson and continue his climb in the light heavyweight division. :rasta

with Roy's fragile Glass Jaw Silva could KO him. If that happens Roy will be the disgrace of the Boxing World.

You are exactly right and that could very well happen.

More realistically, if Roy loses by KO I suspect Silva will get little credit since Jones is old and close to being washed up.

Erm.. he is. In Dog years Jones is about 70. He has no place in ANY boxing ring let alone a circus bout with Silva.
