but can you imagine if pac wins the fight and even KO cotto. :admin it will prove that cotto is just a walk in the park.... pac and roach knows how much they need to do in training to beat such fighter and yet pac is filming a movie now.......
Yeah i remember when Lewis filmed a movie in vagas and then got knocked out in South Africa. I think though that he will definitely spend the last part of camp at the wild card but for whatever reason Roach is pissed about the amount of time Manny will be spending in the philipenes before the camp moves to hollywood.
Yup, that would be a huge surprise. Pac doesn't have issues with his intensity during training camp. But he sometimes starts training a bit late for some fights, postponing camp so he could shoot commercials and whatever. But when training starts, he is dedicated. Cotto would be difficult for Pac, even with proper preparations.
Can Pacquiao take Cotto's big shots--that's the $64M question. Pac has been a marvel with the way he has climbed weight classes and displayed enough punch resistance to win by KO himself. Don't get carried away by the popular notion that Pac has not been tested at these weights because his victims landed only a few power shots. Hatton landed enough to make it clear Pacquiao is not going away that easily. And furthermore, what makes anybody think that Cotto will land shots better than Hatton did? Cotto has better power but Hatton definitely has the faster hands and feet.
That, indeed, is what we want to know. Unfortunately, Pac will only know it come fight night. I am leaning on Cotto surprising everyone by taking down the naturally smaller guy with his superior strength and skills.
Cotto can close the gap pretty well. If he establishes his jab like with Mosley Pacquiao will have a long night.
I think Cotto's jab will have difficulty landing with Pacquiao's quickness and movement probably limiting it. But once Cotto find his rhythm and combination of body punches, I feel Pac might fold up right there. And I really think Cotto's size will play a big factor here.
Actually, in the Marquez rematch Pacquiao already had most of the arsenal and skills he now possesses, but in that fight for one reason or another whether it was a conscious effort on his part, Marquez luring him to that mode, or a combination of both, he reverted to riding his big left hand. After going thru hell, which Marquez surely did too, Roach felt something click inside Manny's head. After the Marquez rematch a different PacMan was born, one who sticks to the plan hatched in the gym.
Actually this is what Im talking about. You said it there. Manny reverted back to his old ways and paid dearly for it against a counterpuncher. He had Marquez hurt and wanted to finish the job, but Marquez isn't an injured gazelle in there. He fired back and took Manny off his feet. He was hit in the 2nd round of the Hatton fight because he wanted to finish Hatton immediately. He was doing the same **** in the DLH fight but DLH NEVER fired back. He just stood there and took it. Even Manny thought it was a trick. All this "he felt sorry for him" bull**** is ridiculous. He was just wondering to himself...Why arent you doing anything!? :verysad:huh He tends to lose focus and caution when he feels he has his man hurt.
Isn't it called killer instinct, when he went there for a kill against Hatton at the end of the 1st round?
