Maybe if Froch could get down to middleweight this may happen. Pavlik doesn't have the pop to KO Froch at SMW. Pav gets KOd for the first time if this were to happen at SMW.

This is an extremely uninformed post. Pavlik has 14 fights at, near, or above the SMW limit. His record in those fights stands at 13-1 (11 KO's.)

Another extremely uninformed post. Pavlik was not invited to participate. This is Sauerland's party, and Sauerland built the Abraham mythology around the idea that Pavlik ducked AA. Kelly's presence in the tournament would destroy the myth. If Abraham had one single hair on his ass, he would have demanded that Pavlik get an invatation. He did not. That says it all.

    Pavlik by KO.

He's actually faster than Froch, he has tighter skills, just as tough, higher output.

This would be a hell of a fight. I say Froch based on power and size. Both guys are 'tailor-made' for each other. None stop punching.....

Froch doesn't have a whole lot to crow about either in that case. He's done exactly what Pavlik has done, only less impressively.

How the hell you ragging on Pavlik when Froch's best win is over the same man?

You are buffon that does not know boxing. Hopkins limits output. How does he do that? Excepcional footwork and distance management. Pavlik wasn't in range to punch so of course he couldn't maintain a high work-rate. Just like Winky-Wright, a reknowned volume fighter, hardly threw **** against Hopkins. That's what he does.

Against the opposition Froch has been fighting Pavlik's work-rate would be just as high. Evidence? He wore down Taylor quicker than Froch did initially, obviously Taylor fought better in the rematch. Watch any of his other fights, he can throw 800 punches easily with power.

Froch didn't even start throwing until 6 rounds against Taylor.

When you are trying to talk in a serious manner about boxing quit typing bull**** like 'lol'. This isn't Facebook or MSN, its difficult enough to address you in a serious manner with that homosexual avatar you are sporting.

Calzaghe is an elite fighter, he's on a different level to Pavlik/Froch entirely. What he did against Hopkins has little relevance, Calzaghe isn't the fighter we are comparing.

The point regarding work-rate is that you are a fool, and you use different standards to judge them by. You use Pavlik against Hopkins to make a comparison against Froch, when Froch himself has never fought Hopkins. The only common opponent is Jermain Taylor, therefore its logical to use that as a basis for comparison. Comprende? Pavlik threw 845 punches against Taylor in the rematch. How many did Froch throw against Taylor? I await your response.

Watch Pavlik/Taylor 2 if you want to get a better indication. Bhop came in with his clock turned back and Pavlik has been documented to have been less than 100%. I know that won't fit your preconceived notion though. If this fight happens, I hope you put money on your boy. :deal

The simple triangulation of common opponents rarely leads to a solid predictive analysis. However, we can look at common opponents, and extrapolate certain factors into our analysis.

Taylor could not miss Froch with left hands during the first six rounds. Pavlik's hand speed is not quite as good as Taylor's. However, his left as a whole is far more versatile, and much more powerful. The hand speed is moot because Pavlik is definitely fast enough to hit Froch. He won multiple jabbing contests against Taylor in their two fights. Froch could not come close to jabbing with JT. Kelly would get the jack hammer version of his jab going right off the bat. He'd also hit Froch hard, flush, and often with left hooks from the outside.

Froch's low guard, lack of speed, and poor movement would make it very easy for KP to land his right hand repeatedly.

Pavlik is no defensive genius, but the only two guys who ever gave him problems are both very accurate. Quick hands and accuracy bother Pavlik. Froch has neither.

The stories on this thread about the size difference are kind of a joke. According to the detailed tale of the tape we saw before Taylor/Froch, overall there isn't a nickels worth of size difference between Taylor and Froch, and even at 166, Pavlik is clearly bigger than Taylor. The size argument is null and void.

I keep wondering how much longer this myth that Pavlik has no power above 160 will continue. His record at, near, or above the SMW limit stands at 13-1 (11 KO's) Hopkins beat KP over 12 rounds. JT lost a UD over 12 rounds at 166 while Pavlik fought the last half with injuries to both hands. A long time ago Ross Thompson made the 8 round distance. In so doing Ross won 1 round on 1 scorecard, and never fought again. When we move away from internet myths and urban legends we see that the actual historical record says KP has plenty of pop above 160.

All of this adds up to one simple fact. Pavlik is more than capable of creating the same type of situation Taylor created in the 3rd round of Taylor/Froch. That was no "flash knockdown." Froch was in serious trouble 45 seconds BEFORE the knockdown. If Taylor was a good finisher, Froch would not have made it out of the round. Pavlik is one of the best finishers in the game.

He was terrible against Pavlik why? What, he was terrible in both fights? Don't be a fool, give credit where its due. They both beat the same guy, Pavlik beat him when he was undefeated middleweight champion. How on earth you derive the idea that Froch beat a better Taylor is beyond me, Pavlik beat him before he'd ever lost. He had no mental scars.

I know what the thread is about, you pulled me up on the fact I said Pavlik has a higher work-rate, and I proved to you that he does using FACTS. That is difficult for you to deal with, I know. There is nothing subjective about the fact Pavlik throws 800 odd punches regularly and Froch does not. Case closed, class dismissed.
