What on earth is that all about? Griffin looses in a one sided clinic but gets 60K for his troubles? What am i missing here? Just proves to me what iv always though about Dana and his "product". I wonder how the other fighters feel that Dana rewards his "marquee and brand" fighters so well.
Yeah he got the Fight of the Night bonus with Silva. Although Penn-Florian should have got fight of the night. At least Kenny put up a fight.
Dana White has his "favorites" he does not treat all his fighters the same which is pathetic. His favoritism towards certain fighters is obvious.
Griffin was fed to Silva for slaughter. Silva's past couple fights were not exactly fan friendly. The UFC wanted Silva to look spectacular for future ppv dates. Griffin was put into a fight that he had no chance of winning for sake of future benefits for the organization. Griffin deserves a bonus.
No diffrent to boxing is it. Reward the fighters that are you're marquee names. Griffin turns up gets his ass handed to him but gets a bonus of 60K?!?
Yeah i got a real big ass. The internets an amazing place. I dont already said its on MMA Junkie. Here let me get it for you stoopid: UFC 101 bonuses: B.J. Penn and Forrest Griffin take $60K, Anderson Silva earns $120K by John Morgan and Dann Stupp on Aug 09, 2009 at 1:55 am ET This content is protected PHILADELPHIA – B.J. Penn and Forrest Griffin each earned $60,000 in "fight night" bonuses – while Anderson Silva took home $120,000 as a dual winner – for their performances at "UFC 101: Declaration." UFC 101 took place Saturday at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia and aired live on pay-per-view. The bonus amounts were down significantly from the record $100,000 awards issued at UFC 100, but were on par with the $60,000 awards issued at May's UFC 98, the UFC's most recent U.S.-based card prior to the historic UFC 100. The UFC announced the bonuses at the UFC 101 post-fight press conference and were confirmed by MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). While Silva may have stolen the show with his dominating win, the UFC didn't let his opponent leave empty handed, awarding both Griffin and "The Spider" the evening's "Fight of the Night" for their one-round co-feature. If there was one post-fight award that was easiest to pick, it was certainly the evening's "Knockout of the Night." Despite having already been awarded half of the evening's "Fight of the Night," Silva earned a second award for his destruction of a former light heavyweight champion. While Penn's fourth-round finish of Florian was certainly a worthy candidate for "Fight of the Night" as well, the UFC instead awarded the lightweight champion the evening's "Submission of the Night." Surprisingly, the bonus was the jiu-jitsu ace's first "Submission of the Night" award. Thats nonsense. There were tons of fans out there that thought Griffin was a live underdog. Additionally Griffin beat Rampage and Shogun. Now im not arguing Griffins corner in the slightest as i said prior to this bout Silva would win whichever way he saw fit in the first. Hardly a hard call to make in my eyes considering the type of figher Griffin is. But he certainly wasnt no sacrificial lamb. Silva is just that good simple.
I dont know if you noticed, but MMA fans for the most part are really stupid. REALLY STUPID. Now I most certainly thought Griffin was going to put up a better fight than what he did last night. But this however, was a perfect fight for Silva and the UFC. Griffin is the perfect guy to look good against. And for the most part, they knew Griffin will come to fight like he always does. Then when you consider his mediocre power, mediocre speed Griffin was there to be slaughtered. He beat Rampage in a very close contest. And Rampage simply isnt that good. Hes no Silva. Rampage wouldnt land one punch on Silva.
Right you fool, Hendo was able to land a right hand vs Anderson, Franklin was able to land a left hand in the second fight, but a much better striker than those 2, wouldnt be able to land vs Anderson?. Please
