Vintage Penn. Florian is really as good as advertised and while he didnt get dominated, he was a notch below. After Sanchez I think BJ should call it, no one will beat him at 155. I like his explosiveness tonight, powerful combos, esp that uppercut. He paced himself and actually was strong enough to show some gusto in the 4th, that slam was unexpected and possessing the best top game in MMA, it was over.

Well I suppose there's guy's like Gray Maynard or Frankie Edgar after Sanchez. But after that either the UFC will have to bring in some guys from Japan or BJ will have to go over there and destroy all them aswell. Aoki, Kawajiri, Hansen, Alvarez, JZ etc. There is plenty of talent at 155 around the world.

He looked great yesterday and it should hopefully be clear to him now that 155 is where he belongs.

Great performence by Penn I loved how he changed his plan in the 4th he was clearly tired of Florian playing the takedown attempt game so he switched off and picked him up and slammed him down and just totally brutalized that man on the ground. Kenny Florian we all know has fantastic high level Blackbelt BJJ skills and BJ ****ing raped him on the ground. I kinda feel sorry for Ken though hes a great fighter and is Championship level IMO but hes 0-2 in the title fights I dont want him to end up like the 1990s Buffalo Bills or something. I do think he will win the Championship eventually I dont see BJ wanting to dominate 155 forever and IMO Kenny is probablly still the 2nd best guy at 155.

I agree about Kenflo, I think hes legit and I will favor him over Sanchez. Although I think he might have made a mistake with his strategy of trying for the takedowns, Penn is significantly bigger and stronger than him and hes no GSP. They should have scrapped the plan after the 2nd rd when it wasnt working. As a result, I think it tired him out more than BJ as was proven in the 4th rd when Penn just exploded and Kenny was too tired to prolong the choke.

Penn was great, his top game is the best in MMA because he'll make you tap guaranteed, the way he used his weight advantage and layed on top of Florian kinda reminds you of how GSP did him in. He looked quick, and although not shredded, his body looked solid and strong.

Kenny should have use the kicks more but anyway, BJ was just too good for him.

I want Maynard vs BJ penn just to see Penn deal with Maynard strenght and wrestling.

I don't see no one beating BJ.

Maynard will get pummeled to death standing up. And as great a wrestler he is, He aint taking BJ down before the 3rd. It would be over by then.

Kenflo has great footwork, distance, timing, a complete standup arsenal and BJ closed that distance easily tagged him a few times. BJs boxing for MMA is sick and Maynard isnt even close to Kenflo in terms of standing.

Yeah but Maynard could try the Florian's gameplan with much more success.

But yeah, he would lose before the end.

GSP took two rounds to take a smaller Penn down. So unless Grays better than GSP, it wont happen.

Anyway, even if he took down Penn, how is he going to avoid submission from Penn when his BJJ is about a level 3 out of 10 and Im being generous.

This is a joke of a fight the more you think of it

Im a huge Penn fan but lets not get carried away. Florian is nowhere near as good as advertised. His best wins were against Huerta (decision) and Stevenson. Those guys just arent very good.

I like Florian but all the top wrestlers at 155 beat him.

Anyone at 155lbs who thinks the way to beat Penn is continue to try for takedowns is crazy. The guy has insane balance and very very difficult to takedown. I remember the Hughes 2nd fight where he was sprawling on one leg and Hughes couldnt do nothing about it.
