I say Froch by KO.... think Froch/Taylor. Dirrell will tag a stationary target like Froch.... but Froch has too much "Will" and power for Dirrell to deal with.

Some time this week or next, i should keep your eyes peeled on the Trent FM arena website just in case because i can see it being sold out pretty quickly.

Thanks. I have been looking fairly regularly (like twice a day!). I've been keeping my eye on Hennessy's site too.

I hate to say it, because doing so makes my skin crawl - but I see a very quick KO for Froch.

I've made a point of watching as much of Dirrells fights as possible over the last 2-3 weeks, from various sources, and I see him hitting the canvass within 4 rounds. I don't expect him to get back up for long either.

p.s. I say that also because I fear far too many people are judging Froch by the Taylor fight. It was probably one of the worst performances of his career in my opinion. I'd love to him put the same level of boxing out again, but I don't see it. I see him steam rollering Dirrell in a very unpleasant way.

No connection to my expecting Froch to win I'm afraid. One of them made me grin from ear to ear in a couple of fights, the other is a loudmouth from Nottingham who I don't really care much for...:yep

His changing of tune when it suits him, general hypocrisy and the fact I don't actually think he's that good a boxer. He hits like a mule when he connects, I grant him that - but I think he's over-rated. Vastly.

I like your mentality - I'm much the same. I truly hate Mayweather but I won't deny I think the man has astounding ring talent. I think boxing needs more fans who are willing to accept they respect a fighter's ability regardless of whether they like the personality.

On a side note I'm giving serious thought to going Nottingham to see this matchup so if anyone gets wind of ticket availability please let us know - ta! :good

Fair enough, but most boxers are hypocrites and change tune when it suits them. Take Calzaghes references to Jones in his Autobiog. Then he goes fights him. You're entitled to your opinion though so thanks for the straight reply. :yep

Its part of the business to change your tune as much as the wind blows, with the outcome of different fights between a fighters schedules and the different options that get opened up to him countless times during his career, hes bound to try and use this method to promote future fights.

I think it is a little unfair to compare Calzaghes reference to Jones and then subsequently fighting him to the incessant and often vitriolic comment that comes from the lips of Froch.

That was, of course, until he discovered he was actually getting the chance to face Kessler. Now he thinks hes very dangerous. All of sudden he thinks Dirrell is dangerous too.

The man has been told he wasn't endearing himself to the British public and was professional advised to become 'nicer'. That's a fact. I'd have had more respect for him if he'd continued being as total arse in some respects.

That said, he has an astounding chin and punches like a truck. He's only going to be beaten by someone with a lot of power that can last a full 12 rounds - and that is Kessler in my opinion.

I hear you. I can see both sides of the Froch / Calzaghe debate. I have read a lot of your posts (assuming you're the same Ragamuffin man) and have always had a lot of respect for your impartial opinions. Froch has undoubtedly toned down his Calzaghe comments in recent times and as a result has become more "user friendly". Since I'm a fan of both boxers this has come as something of a relief.

To be fair to Froch though he isn't exactly putting out the bunting for Calzgaghe, he's just stopped saying his name at every given opportunity. If that's hipocrisy, IMO it's preferable to the previous state of affairs.

When I first watched a few clips of Dirrell I thought he was the real deal. But as you delve further and watch more and more you see his weaknesses, beyond the flasy style and switchhitting. He unravels against pressure, and his defence is quite leaky considering his style.

Froch has got quite a comfortable draw, this inexperienced guy at home.

I think Ward is the top American, extremely well rounded.
