Just rescored Hopkins-Calzaghe and had it 114-113 for Joe. I never saw more difficult fight to judge! Can there be any harder out there in history???
hmmm, new interesting thread. oddly enough i found gatti-ward 1 incredibly hard to score. aside from that, i had trouble with both of hopkins fights with taylor, lewis vs mercer and al-frazier 3 for me. some rounds were damn tough to score.
the first morales-barrera fight was hard to score everytime u thought ok this guy won this round, the other guy would come back with a vengeance
Holyfield v Valuev. I nearly died of boredom, and I can't be sure but I don't know if I remember anyone even landing any punches. The whole fight consisted of Holyfield running away and Valuev plodding forward looking like he was about to cry.
Any fight with John Ruiz is always a ******* to score. Not that I watch Ruiz fights, but the ones I have seen, I couldnt figure out a method to score single punches and long periods of hugging. I settled on whoever looked more frustrated going back to their corner.
Lewis vs Mercer was like nearly impossible. Pretty much every round barring the 6th - which was Mercer's in a big way, was close. I had it to Lennox 96-94, but could understand someone giving it a draw. I felt really sorry for Ray afterwards..... he was so gutted and knew a big chance had gone.
The first two Toney-Mccalum fights were really hard for me to score. Both guys doing great work, both guys rolling with the punches. Really terrific, high level fights, but super hard to score.
Recently scored Toney-McCallum I and had it a draw. Very tough fight to score. But what a beauty! Not like Hopkins-Calzaghe torture...
to be honest the first time i watched it i had a draw, the second time i had that same score but for ray. basically when he jabbed, he won rounds. when lennox threw combos, he won. they were both too patient at times but it's was quite a nice fight. just tough to score
