I still rank Kelly pretty highly but he needs to get to fighting.

He's not the first guy who ever took time off after his wife had a baby.

Pavlik fought better fighters on the way up than Abraham fought as a world titlist. Scar has serious problems with that, so he lashes out every chance he gets.

I'm just pointing out how posters can be biased and double in standards.
    It's question of credibilty.

Kelly Pavlik is being seriously underrated right now.

But as soon as he KO's Paul Williams, a guy who just moved up from 147 not too long ago, he will be back where he started. Overrated again.

Boxing fans are fickle and usually have amnesia.

i think kelly is underrated cos in boxing, like other sports, ur judged on ur recent performances not ur whole record. and he was woeful against hopkins and average against rubio. the fact that rubio froze and had a shocking performance yet it pavlik did not impress is makin people skeptical. add that to the showtime comments and well u got ur current situation

It's his fans that makes things uglier for him. I remember when he was scheduled to fight Hopkins, anyone that picked Hopkins to win was laughed at, insulted, **** on and called a hater despite providing good points with their prediction. Then when it happened the long list of excuses came and that made things uglier.

We all know Abraham was supposed to be in there with Taylor but the injury he suffered against Miranda in the first fight required surgery and forced him out of the scene. Even in his return the IBF DEMANDED that he takes on an easier opponent and Pavlik fans talk about that opponent completely ignoring these facts and showering Abraham with insults for it.

That's when Miranda got another chance to secure a shot by fighting another up and comer in Pavlik and the rest is history. For that all alone Pavlik OWES Abraham a shot and he never gave it to him claiming the man isn't popular enough, the money isn't right and long list of excuses Arum spits out that Pavlik fans believe immediately without being reasonable. Abraham isn't popular enough yet they openly admitted they would consider Sturm, that explains it and is the reason why Abraham said "**** IT" and moved up to participate in a tournament/division literally packed with dangerous opponents.

The Williams fight is a good one, I sure as hell won't claim the victory is overrated or any of that if he wins. I'm actually picking Williams to beat him and will be here to give him full credit if he beats Williams.

in all honesty, the hate has always been there. its just now, some think they have a good enough reason to vent it w/o looking like a hater. whether its "ducking" aa, or this "drinking problem" or now fighting a "ww". like pipe said, "they are gettin ammo on pav on the cheap." its bull**** but its also not unexpected.

I don't need to defend Mayweather for fighting Margarito, any fan with brains would tell you that a fight with Baldomir, DLH and Hatton are FAR better than a fight with Margarito who's biggest win at the time was Manuel Gomez.

If you can't see that then you have issues. The reason why I constantly remind fools about it is because they're idiotic and don't know how things work in this sport.

Would you say a fight over Margarito back then would have been better than fights with Baldomir, DLH and Hatton?

If so, then I won't be surprised either. Let's face it, you barely know how to type English let alone understand what the **** is going on in this sport.

The difference between Mayweather and Pavlik is very obvious. Mayweather HAD many other options and better ones for more money/legacy, Pavlik had NO ONE but Abraham who was a big enough name in the division.

No go to google and search for another negative article regarding Mayweather to back up your claims then ask me to go discuss with the journalist and not you.

    Pavlik's resume:

    Lockett
    Rubio
    Taylor x2
McKart(a journeyman in his prime who was past it in this one)
    Miranda
    Zuniga(Floored Pavlik too)

    Abraham's resume:

    Eastman
    Ikeke
    Miranda x2
    Ayala
Gevor(recently robbed off a victory against Sturm, yes the same Sturm Pavlik showed more interest in fighting than Abraham)
    Marquez

    -----

It's hardly "FAR" better than Pavlik so please strop trying to make Pavlik look like a fully established ATG, we're not fools here. Pavlik knows he doesn't have enough to fight at Middle and is already hinting a move up to SMW is very possible in the future.

No doubt it is packed with dangerous opponents for Abraham. There was a front page article where a fighter was responding to Saurland's remarks and he said something like "Saurland likes to negotiate with himself in the press." That kind of says it all. He wanted a career payday for Abraham from Arum and wanted to keep all of the German TV money to boot. Saurland won the internet bulletin board war with some folks though. Good for him. Kelly owed Abraham nothing. Saurland priced him out. I'm happy that Abraham got his payday though it will come in a 'series' of fights for as long as he lasts at 168. His OH WILL GO!
