The type of fighter that will always give Cotto trouble was revealed way back in 04 or 05 when he fought Lovemore Nduo. Someone physicaly strong at the weight and one who cant take his punches and push him backwards. Pac although very gifted does not posses the physical attributes to beat Cotto over 12 rounds. As Cotto and Vernon forrest have showed in the pass a significant speed advantage can be neutralized with timing and a great jab. Once the speed advantage Pac has is neutralized then what will he do.

I dont see this as a 50-50 fight at all. I see a onesided beat down being administered. If Cotto's pumping that thudding left jab all night its gonna be shock and aw for Pac. He's hardly been touched in his last three fights. Pac's lack of quality opponents to see if he's even suited for this weight will be his undoing. Let's say Pac destroyed Nate Campbell, Bradley, Clottey in his last three fights then i would be impressed and give him a legit shot. He fought three fighters taylor made to make him look great.

No, if Pac beat those guys you stated instead of the guys he did beat, you'd still be stating now that in NO way can Pac beat DLH or Hatton. It'll be suicide! And this Cotto fight would have been more unimaginable. You are blinded by how Pac won those fights, and its not entirely because his opponentse made a mistake in training, it has something to do with the way Pac trained for the fight.

The point you miss is a fight with those hypothectical fights i mentioned would have tested Pac. Pac was supposed to beat diaz; he was supposed to beat delahoya hell roach even said it himself he knew delahoya could no longer pull the trigger; he was supposed to beat hatton. Can you honestly say those fighters werent taylor made for him.

I couldn't agree with you more.....Cotto has 1 loss and people are writing his obituary.

He will be a solid Welter on the 14th and well prepared ....
Manny will soon discover what it is like to be in a ring with a true Welter.

Especially after all the trash talk of knocking Cotto out....I know its Roach,
however Manny is there with him....

Manny will find himself belly up in the 7th round !!!!! :nut

So true. He loses ONE fight, then has a tough fight against a good fighter and he's shot?

Its easy to asses the fight right now. But that time, Pac was ridiculed for attempting to end his career by fighting these guys. When roach said DLH, couldnt pull the trigger anymore, everyone including DLH said alzheimers' getting worse! Hatton was more dangerous coming from a good comeback with a supposedly better trainer. They met at jr WW, where Hatton was the top man to beat.

The Ndou and Urkal fights were the exact reason i knew Cotto would have a fustrating time with Margarito (though i did think hed pull out the victory)

I think Pac doesn't take Cotto seriously cause he's already done so much.

Beating Cotto doesn't do much to elevate Pac's already legendary status. Cotto should be more flexible setting up this fight because he needs the win more than Pacquiao. A win over Pacquiao puts Cotto way up there. Should he win, that would be perfect for Shane Mosley.
