the biggest issue for haye is the fact no way in hell he is knocking him out, and he is gonna have to do 12 rounds, haye will start to fall apart after 9 rounds. (or after 6).

    heard it here first.

  2. Good post. Valuev has improved a lot and will be a better fighter than the Holyfield fight showed. Also, he was preparing for a rematch against Chagaev before the fight was called off and Chagaev is a similar stature to haye, so Valuev's preparation will have been good for this fight.

That said, i still think haye is going to tear him apart.

The thing about Valuev is that he can be inconsistent. Indeed, he looked very much improved with a relatively fast and snappy jab against Ruiz II and Liakhovic, but then looked like **** against Holyfield. What kills Valuev is foot movement. Chagaev and Holyfield completely neutralised him with it. Dash in and out with combinations.

However, Valuev will have his excellent chin and stamina going for him. I don't doubt that Haye will win the first 6 rounds easily. And although i'd favor him to win a UD, i wouldn't be completely surprised to see him gas later in the fight when Valuev comes on.

They both have wins over Barrett. It'll be interesting Haye is an explosive fighter but Valuev thinks that he will take him out quick. We shall see what happens. I am picking Haye but would consider it only a mild upset if Valuev won.

You're right, Valuev wasn't always as bad as in the Holy fight. In the Liakhovich fight he looked particularly dangerous: he was busy, used a good jab, was fast (for his size, obviously) and powerful. I was really impressed when watching that fight thinking the guy was finally making progress.

Unfortunately he made a couple of steps back since that fight but I would definitely favor Valuev from the Liakhovich fight to beat Haye.

Maybe..if Haye fights like Lyakhovich...in other words: If Haye does NOTHING.

Haye vs Valuev is an intriguing fight, I won't rule out any result, just hope Haye doesn't back out of this one as well.

I think Valuev is a tough fighter and a hard nut to crack, people are underrating him here.

Also, I never saw Haye do anything close to what Holy did in the Valuev fight. That was some freaking impressive showcase of stamina and conditioning for a fighter, even more for a 45 year old.

    :huh

There is a big possibility you still have stamina at the end when you throw two punches a round...

Exactly. He's not mobile enough to avoid a fast, swarming power-puncher like Haye. He'll get tagged at will and lose by TKO, and that's all there is to it.

I don't like Haye, I've never made that a secret...

...but Haye has the speed to completely demolish Valuev. Haye's biggest problem is if he gets into a hugging match with the sasquach, it will end his stamina. I also worry about Haye's hands as they pound against Valuev's marble slab of a head.
I think this fight will look a lot like Valuev's fight with Berrett with the exception that Haye can crack with every shot and will be more selective/accurate with his punches.
Haye needs to stay inside of Valuev's punches or outside of range all together and jump in with power in between Valuev's inactivity while avoiding clinches.. Any grappling with the 320 lb. man will end Haye.

My guess is that Valuev gets nowhere near Haye, takes a bit of a beating, frustrated by speed and is pulled out by his corner.

    People doubt
Haye, and I understand that. But in all honesty this is an elite level fighter, in terms of skills, power and speed, against a badly ageing so-so champ.

Haye wins this everyday and twice on Sundays.
