de la hoya hasnt beat ANY competition outside of a aged whitaker, quartey and mayorga. this one is trinidad easily
De La Hoya. De La Hoya has close controversial wins over Whitaker and Quartey, while Trinidad has a controversial win over DLH. Trinidad's win over aged Whitaker (inactive for over a year and in rehab) is around the same level as DLH's 1st win over Chavez, but the edge probably goes to DLH since at least Chavez was a reigning title-holder and active at the time in 1996. Trinidad's other best wins at WW were Carr and Campas. He beat better versions of them than DLH did (Vargas as well), but DLH's list of solid wins over the likes of Molina, Ruelas, Hernandez, Rivera, and Gonzalez is impressive. Reid was a nice win for Tito, but in retrospect nothing really special. Reid's management was probably cashing out as Reid not only had that eye problem, but looked pretty bad in some of his fights leading up to Trinidad. While I would say that Vargas is probably the best win for both guys and Tito has the edge there, DLH has a deeper list of good solid wins that gives him the edge.
Don't you dare act like it's a landslide in favor of DLH...it's close but DLH edges Tito by an inch..
I think DLH had a better claim to beating Whitaker than Tito did to beating DLH. Quartey was different. The last round made a lot of people forget how little DLH did in most of that fight. He was fortunate to get the decision there, but I had no problem with him getting the nod against Whitaker (9-3 official scorecard is another story though)
Oscar De la Hoya: Paez, Molina, Hernandez, Leija, Chavez x2, Whitaker, Camacho, Quartey, Gatti, Vargas, Campas, Mayorga Felix Trinidad: Camacho, Campas, Pendleton, Whitaker, De la Hoya, Vargas, Mayorga Pretty obvious one here. . . .
