At the risk of sounding like a nobhead. What would antihistamines do for you?

In "old'un days" a boxing ring used to be just a roped off area with a stake in the ground.

One cheerful bloke would go round with a whip getting money off everybody to put in a bag and hang off the stake for the winning fighter.

Hence the phrase "Having a whip round", the fighters pay being called "The Purse" and gambling money being called "The stake".

Also a line was scratched in the ground which the fighters would have to approach before the fight began showing they were ready, hence "Coming up to scratch" / "Coming up to the mark".

Despite the fact he made his reputation in the Welterweight division, Thomas Hearns only held the WBA world welterweight title for barely a year.

So when you think about it. If it wasn't for split titles, he probably never would of been a champ at welter.
Linear would of went Napoles, Stracey, Palomino, Benitez, Leonard.
Hearns loses his shot against Leonard.

Well... Hearns got his shot in Aug 1980. The Champion at the time was Roberto Duran.

    This is not that special:

At Thomas Hearns' last fight in 2006 against Shannon Landberg, the announcer erroneously stated that Hearns had beaten Ray Leonard.

A freudian slip rather than an error, me thinks!

It wasn't that good, I know.

Depending on how one scored Hearns/Leonard II, there might not be any disagreement.
