Thanks Matt, It's not concrete but it's pretty accurate. If anyone has any corrections I would be happy to recalculate. I got one of my nerdy buddies to work out simple percentages of number of champs per countries population.
One champion in a country could be considered a fluke or an anomaly and excluded, moving Ireland up to 5th!
What kind of champions are included in this? From all organizations or just the 4 biggest ones? Because a WBU belt technically is also a champions belt..
I'll buy that:good Just a note, this dosen't include number of titles won, just the number of world champs. I'm working on a list of titles won per country, I'll post it when it's done.
I don't buy into this population bull****. It's the population of pro boxer you should focus on.Like how many boxers each countries has had over the years..from the past to the present.
So go make that list:good I was interested in champs per capita cos I always hear people talk about it and I was interested to see what the list would look like. Obviously Belize is not a better boxing nation than the US. It's just statistics, there's a lot behind the numbers though.
have you included any boxers like gene tunney whos parents were irish as he would have been eligible for a passport , bumping us up the list a bit more !!
