99 percent of athletes don't come close to the type of hatred Jack Johnson got.

 It's still amusing that people go on about Hamed being past his best. He was in his prime, he just significantly moved up in class. Kelly and Bungu were Hamed's bests wins up until he fought MAB, and Marco would have beaten both of those fighters on the same night. Hamed just ran into a well schooled special fighter at the peak of his powers. No more to be said.

Currently, I'd say Amir Khan is probably the most unpopular British fighter.
Which is unfair, as the boy has good boxing skills.
Unfortunately, some people hold against him the fact that he defeated shopworn boxing legend Barrera after getting blasted out by Prescott.
He comes across as a nice enough kid to me, though.

Jack Dempsey became something of a national villian during the whole draft dodging saga.

Frazier recieved death threats during his series with Ali.

Ali himself was hated venemously in the States after he declined Uncle Sam's invitation.

But not fighter was ever so villified as Jack Johnson.

I'd say Floyd Mayweather, but Boxers from the UK, Amir Khan or David Haye.

The first name that came to mind was Larry Holmes but hes 2nd to Floyd Mayweather Jr.

  14. I'm starting to hate David Haye with a passion. He doesnt have the balls to back up his threats. What a clown.
