Lets say you take the Sugar Ray Leonard of the Norris fight and put him up against the Oscar De La Hoya of the Pretty Boy fight whom would you choose to win under these circumstances?

Leonard. I just think he looked so bad because Norris' hand-speed was too much for him. This DLH doesn't possess the same speed nor does he possess much head movement, which Leonard can exploit, even this eroded version could.

I bet if Leonard fought some slow plodding type guy for a belt in his 2nd comeback he probably would've won

Tough for me to say since I didn't see the Leonard/Norris fight, but Oscar did well vs. a prime Mayweather to the point he was winning through the first 7-8 rounds. Makes you wonder what Oscar would've done to Mayweather 6-7 years ago, where he was faster and able to pull the trigger.

I agree with the highlighted statement. George Foreman after Norris fight with Meldrick Taylor even said that Leonard did'nt have to retire after he lost to Norris because he lost to a great fighter whom he went the distance with while young fighters like a undefeated Carl Daniels were getting knocked out by Norris in the 9th round. Leonard was still a world class fighter when he fought Norris and could have had another run if matched up properly.

I would choose Leonard by close decision in this matchup but I can see a case being made for Oscar also.

I'd go for Leonard, he was still fast, but not as fast as in his prime.

Ray would beat the Golden *** 100 times outta 100. He was better than Oscar in every single possible way.

Hard to judge off 1 fight with very different opponents

although, I like them both but even in his past-prime fights Leonard had something that an great ATG like him separates from an good ATG like oscar.
Leonard would win a clear UD but oscar would earn a lot of respect.

I think the fights with Lalonde and Hearns rematch took a lot of out Leonard. Going back down to 154 in 1991 to fight Oscar who was washed up I have to pick Oscar. Oscar was more active at the time and did not lose to onesided.

DLH's jab would play an interesting part in the bout.

    Glad you saw that:lol:

Now the kalule version makes for a spectaculer toe 2 toe scrap & i'am going for Oscar to do a Vargas on Leonard. Stamina is the key here:yep
