Walk with me, forgetting the insults, we have to admit thesham01 has a point. How would PBF have done fighting Collazo?
The numbers Floyd hit against Oscar and Hatton were in large part due to his opponents appeal. Oscar's widespread popularity, Hatton's army of football fans, and the introduction of HBO 24/7....were IMO the main reasons why the numbers in those two fights were so high. Prior to that, Mayweathers numbers were nowhere near what he often boats about. It may well be that Floyd's claims of being Mr HBO are fairly exaggerated. To further this notion, you can simply look at the rumours persisting over the JMM bout. We can safely say that the September bout hasn't generated as much interested as the ones already mentioned. In fact, more people are talking about what's going to happen in a Mayweather and Pacquiao fight (which doesn't even exist).
Easily has big as (if not bigger) than any involving Mayweather. Ricky's got major appeal here in the UK (even if it is from deluded football fans who know nothing about boxing, and who would even follow him off the edge of a cliff).
barely any sales? the fight hasnt happened yet so we cant even properly gauge the sales.... the tickets are going to sell regardless.. whether its at the last minute or the day they open up... thats irrelevant.. im talking about ppv #'s you verbally attacked me... i dont deal with posters like you... if you want to have a mature debate im down for that but im not dealing with someone who lunges insults like a little kid thats a impossible question to answer.... how would oscar do fighting Collazo? how would oscar do fighting me? i mean its really an impossible point to measure.. thats like saying.... what if lebron played with wilt chamberlain how many rings would he have... you cant speculate on something like that regardless floyd is the common denominator... right now...august 11th.. floyd is the #1 ppv guy.. i mean truth be told... he is even better than hatton & pacman respectively because they couldnt even sell floyd out when they fought against pacman... im dealing with the now.... now the past I dont know.... how well would a tyson vs ali do with a 24-7 ... all we can do is speculate... but if we speak in fact .. floyd has done the best... until someone does better than him... you know
i think only the ignorant dispute that floyd is a big ppv draw the problem is he won't shut up about it but then again that's part of his shtick, to make people buy the ppv's to see him lose that might be why this one won't do so hot, because there's not much of a chance for him to lose
I cant wait for 24-7 though... 24-7 made hatton look like he was going to smash floyd into a bloody pulp... cant wait to see how they spin this fight
You are avoiding the question bro. You know i'm not asking you to give me some numbers. Just that, if you honestly think about it, there is few doubts Hatton-DLH would have done as good if not better.
It's not that he doesn't get credit for anything, it's that he's deluded enough to think that he, and not De la Hoya and Hatton, is the cash cow. Dlh and Hatton could sell big numbers without Floyd but Floyd has never produced big numbers on his own.
REALISTICALLY REALISTICALLY REALISTICALLY how am i supposed to answer that question? i could throw out some fantasy number of 3 million .... but who knows... maybe it would flop and nobody would care about hatton and it would only do 500k its really impossible to answer
It's been proven, Floyd is a bigger draw than pacquiao, I can't even beleive people still argue this. The average sports fan just heard of Manny last year wheras they've known Floyd for years already.
like calling you a PBF/Williams nut-hugger is something new you are if you don't like people telling you this, then watch more fighters than just the ones you like and contribute more than just nut-hugging threads about PBF and Williams
probably as well as he did vs Baldomir which is better than Manny did against Marquez a much higher callibre opponent
Manny now is a far bigger draw than he was back then, he is far bigger than PBF now also Manny versus Marquez would be bigger than PBF versus Marquez now, no question although that may be a bad example as pacquaio-marquez has history, but you get my point
