    Hopkins.

I rank Hagler as the greater middleweight due to his superior opposition level, especially pre-title.

I think what Marvin did in his middleweight career is greater than what bhop would have done with that win against adamek and all other achievements. He fought and beat the greats of that division throughout the 70's and 80's, and they were some tough guys. I'd take Marvelous Marvin by a thinner margin than the majority of other fighters.

Hopkins, especially if he beats Adamek. That's due to achievement across a number of weight classes though, at MW I have him behind Hagler like Thread Stealer.

pretty much says it for me. ATG, P4P Hopkins is higher. As a middleweight, Hagler edges it

If Hopkins were to face Adamek and beat him, true world titles at 160, 175, and 200 would have to leapfrog Hagler's accomplishments, albeit spectacular as they are. That's 40 pounds in weight against elite comp!

Hagler's Resume- Sugar Ray Seales x3, Bennie Briscoe, Cyclone Hart, Willie Munroex3, bugaloo wattsx2, antuofermo x2. look at the last 14 guys that Marvin Faced, which included Duran (ATG), Hearns (ATG), and Leonard(ATG). Marvin's resume is overall much better despite the fact that he never journeyed past middleweight. furthermore, Marvin never had a reason to leave middleweight. all of the big money fights and legacy defining fights were right where he was. Bhop was forced to leave 160 by Jermain Taylor. I understand that you guys love BHOP, he's easily in my top 5 favorite still active fighters, but come on, Marvin Takes this

i think they're resumes are comparable especially considering hopkins left middle. that's what does it for me-the victories over tarver, wright (however tainted by the weight) and pavlik give him comparable accomplishments to the marvelous one.

the ONLY fighter marvin could have taken above middleweight and ever even considered was the light heavy battle with spinks...one of the best almost fights of the era

I don't like Hagler's chances at LHW. He was smart to stay at 160.

    Spinks would've handled him.
