Rico should be banned from all RJJ threads. 120-108 YOU ARE A HATER.

Ya Rico doesn't know ****. His scoring of the fight was downright ridiculous 120-108.. You're telling me Roy didn't win a round? hahaha.. pure hater.

The guy probably goes on other threads bashing Floyd as well.

This was my fav Jones fight. Lost all that weight, and still some how managed to win against a hungry, top level fighter who studied him and virtually trained to fight him since the early Gold Gloves days.

I had it a virtual draw until the last 2 rounds when Roy put it all out there and Tarver wilted.

Roy dominated this fight expect for the occassional moments when he was on the ropes. Even then most of the time Tarver wouldnt land one shot.

This is an underrated Roy victory because it was the first time he was seen so desperate in the last few rounds, but to drop back down from heavyweight and regain the light heavyweight title in the next fight is pretty amazing.

Antonio had to grow up in between the two Jones fights.

Stylistically, Tarver is a Jones nightmare. Nobody could have a prime Roy's number, but this is the type of guy that gives him a hard time: Tall, athletic, fast of hand, with decent power and really sticks with his jab.

Tarver was so awed that all his classless **** talking finally paid off, he forgot to go win the fight. Roy, being a professional, thus did his job while Tarver wasn't doing his and won the fight.

Tarver should have beaten Roy that night. Jones was finally the lesser fighter, but this is boxing, and by being the lesser man, Antonio handed Roy his last great win.

Why did Roy give Antonio a rematch agian? Because the fight was so close? Or was it in the contract?

I think Roy did it to prove that he can beat Tarver more convincingly, I don't think it was in the contract because after the fight he was saying he wanted to fight Tyson and retire... After not getting the fight with Tyson and with Tarver running his mouth, Roy decided to fight him again.

Biggest mistake of his career! I do remember Tarver running his mouth though.

    "Any more excuses Roy"

In my opinion Tarver caught him with a lucky punch in the rematch but that punch took all of Roys confidence out of him. I still believe if Roy had backed himself he could of easily won the 3rd fight between the two. Roy handed him that victory.

Roy edged this fight at the end. One of Roy's better victories.

Sad ****, watching this. Round 11 Roy took 5 straight jabs to the face, punches he would've easily dodged in the past. You can see him trying to do what he did but once he realizes its coming, the punch is already there. He's got old man reflexes now.:-(

Tarver wasn't even looking at Roy when he threw his hail mary shot, yet he describes it as "perfectly timed".

You dont have to watch to land. Roy tried to do right hand and dodge, like he did in his prime. Tarver threw his left, a conditioned response when he blocks a right, and Roy THOUGHT his head wouldn't be there. It was.

Wasn't perfectly timed, but wasn't lucky. Classic counter. I block a right hand, I let my left hand go, every time.
