Why Tyson was the greatest ever in his "prime"

Idiots on here define "prime" as "Impossible to lose during this romanticized period" - it's just a huge fallacy. No fighter ever lost in their "prime" as long as it's a fan of his discussing his record and "prime" period.

Q: Do you really think if you snatched an 87 tyson out of history and threw him in the ring with Lennox Lewis that Tyson would win?

A: Of course! B/c that Tyson is "prime" and therefore automatically can't lose! Derrrrr!

 

A young Tyson never "struggled" with a fighter who can't take a punch. Consider the intimidation factor as well, Wlad would be beaten before he stepped in the ring.

 

I'm not sure you know what a dictionary is actually for. A prime Lennox Lewis was not even called "Mike Tyson".

Also, Tyson's REAL prime was 31 seconds long, against Michael Spinks. Even that's hatin' a bit: I think Tyson's prime might have been a second-and-a-half at the very end of his fight. A prime Tyson, therefore, KO's all his opponents instantly, so no-one could beat him in his prime. Tyson-Ali would be like Jimmy Thunder-Crawford Grimsley.

 

Tyson fought with his strong hand first though, would he have been as effective if he was forced to fight as a left handed southpaw?

 

A prime Tyson would only need to land one clean punch on Wlads chin and he's going to sleep.

In all fairness the way to beat Tyson was by keeping him away with the jab but Wlad is not the man to do it.

Wlad has never gone to sleep from one punch. The way to beat Tyson to have a height and reach advantage, a precise jab, power and tie him up on the inside. The current version of Wlad might be able to do just that. I am not saying he would, but Tyson's win is guaruanteed.

 

I've always maintained that Tyson's true prime was on Tuesday May 10th 1988, between 10:40 and 10:41 in the morning, while he was doing up his shoelaces after breakfast. That version of Tyson obliterates everyone.
