I have alot of respect for Marquez but he's going against a better fighter than he has ever seen. I think the whole Floyd is in for a good fight is all b/s. He's more skilled, has a longer reach, and is a naturally bigger fighter.

I'm predicting this fight will be somewhat similar to the Genero Hernandez fight where Floyd is going to open Marquez up and either him, the ref, or his corner is going to stop the fight.

There are so many question marks surrounding Marquez at this higher weight ... his age ... and all the wars he's been in over the years ...

A stoppage for Floyd is just going to generate more buzz for a fight against whoever wins the Cotto vs Pacquiao fight.

100% agreed. I don't think Marquez stands much of a chance in this one, based on his fighting style in his past 3 or 4 fights and based on how much slower he's looked at lightweight.

Marquez is no Genero Hernandez. Just as Marquez has not previously fought anyone of Mayweathers talent, Floyd has never been in with anyone as skilled and experienced as Marquez. In fact, Marquez has been in with the better fighters of the two.

I would be surprised. I think JMM holds on till the end and loses a clear UD.

And no it would not be one of the biggest upsets in history.

All the conditions are right for JMM to beat Floyd and he's the #2 P4P today.
It can't be compared to the likes of Douglas - Tyson or Dempsey - Flynn etc, etc.

marquez has not been in with the better fighters....maybe smaller but not better...PBF has beat a 154 lb oscar...the 140 king in hatton...the 135 king in castillo, the 130 king in corrales....never mind the countless other titles he has accumulated....he is far superior to marquez and fresh...if he goes for it he will ko him ...if not he will win a one sided fight....marquez is great but he is just not floyd

Marquez is the best fighter Floyd has ever fought and vice-versa, aside from the weight and whatever other variables you want to factor. It's will be closer than many people think.

  10. He's been in the ring with much better fighters in Pacquiao and Barrera. However, Floyd is the most talented pure boxer he will have ever faced.

I'm also afraid that Marquez is going to get stopped. I think it may happen in round 7 or around round 7. I'm hoping the long lay-off has affected Money and he won't be as sharp. Historically, fighters are never the same after such long lay-offs. If anyone can pull off an upset it's Marquez. Vamos Marquez! Tu puedes!

Mayweather is a naturally bigger fighter regardless of his titles at lower weights. Hatton looked visibly smaller in the ring with him. He's got a frame that has accommodated additional weight nicely. He's younger, taken less damage over time and smart enough to avoid getting into any brawling unless he smells weakness.

JMM who is a brilliant fighter in his own right, can beat Mayweather but most likely won't. He's looked slower, older and more hittable in his last outing that ever before.

So I still wouldn't be surprised if Mayweather wins comfortably. And he should. He's fighting an older, slower, talented but smaller fighter. I'll be surprised if JMM wins ... thrilled, happy ... but surprised. Here's hoping though.

he is the most talented for sure...floyd is just too much for him in the end though IMO...not a knovk on JMM who i do not feel is #2 with floyd around or he would not be such a huge underdog

JMM has a nice frame too and has steeped up in weight with NO problem but i agree with the point he is a bit beat up...he has been in alot of wars where floyd , hand problems aside seems to be clean and fresh...hardly ever gets hit...i just think he is too fast, too strong, and too defensively sound
