No they're not. They're both fatted-up welterweights. De La Hoya more so than Trinidad in fairness.

Agenda behind the question is fairly obvious. But still stupid, yes.

    168lbs Calzaghe beats both 147lbs fighter's.
(Trinidad & De La Hoya have/had no business fighting above 154lbs)

    What's the point?

    H2H/P4P, Both beat him.
(Trinidad K.O.s him & De La Hoya outpoint's him)

The point is, the thread starters obvious agenda was to show that two of Hopkins biggest names (I regret to inform her that Oscar is universally not considered one of his biggest wins BTW), Calzaghe would also beat. Which I agree with 100%. He would beat them both. But what that proves I have no idea, seeing as how Hopkins did as well.

A better thread would have asked how Calzaghe fairs against the Jones of 93 or the Taylor of 05. But agendas be what agendas are I guess.

No to have a go Hatesrats but see this P4P pish !

What you are in essence saying is , if Trinidad and DLH were SMWs they would beat him easily, because all there attributes that strenght is part of suddenly increase by having extra weight , yet they dont lose anything ?

So what if Calzaghe was a Welter ? someone that fast at SMW by this rationale would be blindingly quick at Welter , somone with excellent stamina at SMW could basically punch non stop at Welter , Y'know it cuts both ways !

Anyhoo I certainly dont mean this to be a personal attack on you , its just frustrating the amount of time P4P discussion get on here when its such utter bull**** !

I thought Trinidad was a credible middleweight, he had the frame to carry himself at that weight. DLH was never a credible middleweight, he just wasn't.

But at the end of the day, Calzaghe is a 168lbs fighter, or a LH, so whats the point of this thread?

All I would say is that P4P, Trinidad and DLH are both far better than Calzaghe.

Hmmmm Tito might have had the frame but you could see in the fight Tito was soft bodied at 160 where as Hopkins looks like he was carved out of wood.

Which guy was the better LW? Hell, look at Calzaghe - Lacy...physique has little to do with readiness or ability at a certain weight class.
