Yeah Silva looked like a boxer there, he was able to pick Forrest apart so easily because he knew how to make him rush in.
Yep, I still think the UFC should have never gifted Griffen the belt after that fight against Rampage.
False. GSP's size and strength beat Penn in the first fight. He was equal with him on skill in the second and his strength and size wore Penn out and made him helpless on the bottom.
Really? Have you ever watched fight science? This is a myth and was disproved several years back. KOed w/ a JAB LOL LOL --- MMA fighters are weak as a whole -- less than 6 top quality fighters in the whole of the sport. Its full of people who can fight up front but cant give while they take it. Not there fault though they are mostly grapelers of a sort( wrestling , BJJ, Shoto, judo . etc) they are not accustomed to getting cracked... In time , when purses go up it might attract the best of the best, but for now it full also rans.
I disagree with this. Griffin has shown that he can make stuff happen on the ground against good fighters. He owned rampage and shogun on the ground and the only place his size advantage would have mattered. Both Lutter and Henderson won rounds with Silva on the ground and griffin could/should have at least explored that route. Whoever is saying that size means nothing, watch Henderson/Rampage. No way Rampage is more skilled but he held Hendo down and beat on him the whole fight. This was just a really dumb plan and/or horrible execution by Griffin.
Theres an addage in boxing. An exceptional little man beats a good big man. What do you think happens when that big man is exceptional?
Have you see their first bout? GSP won a debateable decision and his face was a mess. BJ's on the other hand didnt have a mark on it. GSP has all the right tools to be a consistent success in this sport. BJ did not at welter.
You're confusing me. I'm not sure what your angle here is. All I'm saying is that GSP had a significant size advantage and it played a part. I don't know nor care who is more skilled, I know GSP is the better conditioned athlete and that was a major factor as well. But his weight, stregth and size helped to tire Penn out and also negated some of Penns weapons.
Has Griffin answered as to why he ran outta the ring like a dog with his tail between his leg's? Imagine what a skilled boxer can do with those MMA gloves? (I bet Mallinaggi would have vicious K.O. power in MMA)
