6oz gloves?!?!?! I have to say I've just seen much more of Floyd (not much of Gans available from what I know and what I have seen is, ahem, 'degarded' to say the least) and I think Gans is a little bit too primitive. I never overrate Floyd by any means, but his combination punching was still there at 135. I'll give Gans the benefit of the doubt and say he lasts the distance; Floyd via decision.
Sorry, i haven't got a clue about the gloves thing, Manassa told me to state the weight of the gloves, was just a guess! Gloves were smaller in the old days, and this is Mayweather's type of fight distance wise, so i wanted to even it out for comfort zones. Anyway, Gans starts well for me, giving Mayweather more to think about than he has had to ever before, especially at lightweight, the footwork and countering of the old master being the main reason. As the fight goes on, i expect Mayweather to adjust and step in with rapid combos enough to sneak a 12 round decision.
Mayweather stays on his feet & is wise not to exchange with Gans. Floyd uses his hand speed to keep a distance, and foot work to keep moving. Eventually Gans shortens up the gap & the exchange furious punches, but by then it's a little too late. Floyd has built up a good lead. Floyd Mayweather Jr. Split Decision Victory.
Mayweather has speed, defense, reactions and probably strength on Gans. In some ways they are similar fighters and Gans skills are getting a little underrated here, wonderful at rolling with the punches and evasive footwork, good at making an opponent miss and countering with straight rights in a way not dissimilar to FMJ although like many fighters of the ancient school he was a little straight up. Mayweather would make him pay for some of these stylistic mistakes, and use his faster feet, hands and better use of angles to pull out a clear UD Fighting same day way in fighters benefits Floyd as he was often giving up pounds in the ring from rehydrated opponents, this wouldnt be the case with Gans and he'd also be the stronger man because of this FMJ UD 8-4 or even 9-3
good fight, especially tactically Gans was a master at boxing so could FMJs speed let him get away with out boxing the master. I see it opposite as Teeto. FMJs speed and movement causes Gans early problems but Gans adjusts later on and manages to time him better but did he do it early enough Gans SD
mayweather loses tko in the 4th after breaking his hands in the tiny gloves haha jk man i'm with the guy who said gans was too primative ..
Floyd uses his superior athletic ability to avoid Gans shot's and pot shot to a decision, probably pulls some of his old school tricks out of the bag to cope with Gans style. Floyd UD.
