What if this two fight @145... who will win.. for me cotto clrearly but it may change after his fight this sept.
Depends on which Cotto shows up. Either way it is a great fight... but I lean towards JMM at present (yes, I'm serious). This fight, however, would probably only take place if both JMM & Cotto won. (Small chance it happens if they both lose... but I doubt that, not June 2010 anyway). Now if Cotto beats Manny, in all likeliness it would mean he was found himself again & is back on track -- and will stop looking as though he's regressed to the more flat-footed left-hooker of old -- still, a tough threat for anyone but nowhere near as good as the Cotto that was beginning to blossom into a very good boxer-puncher; the one we liked from the Judah & Mosley fights! THIS better Cotto vs. JMM. I'd lean towards Cotto. it's still a fight I'd want to see either way!
I'd defo have to side with youth & size. In Cotto. But JMM can defo catch him, he has the arsenal. (Counter punching, Skillz & Uppercuts)
Cotto. Too big, he's also far too skilled offensively, he'll open up JMM and punish him with power punches.
The fact that JMM (like Pacquiao) has a realistic chance of pulling a win off against a good-sized, quality welterweight speaks volumes of the class of boxer we're dealing with. (ignoring the fact that Manny is the favourite to beat Cotto, rightly so, whilst JMM would be a decent underdog, again - rightly so).
style make the fight..... so we cannot consider that if pac beat cotto jmm also can beat cotto but what would think folks is jmm style bad for cotto?
ofcourse. I'm not doing Boxing Maths... rather, I'm talking about which Cotto turns up -- that is one of the most important factors, here. as far as styles go, though: JMM's counter-punching prowess is a problem for anyone cuz it's a rare-thing... you can't find sparring partners or even think back to former foes.. who can counter-punch like JMM does -- with that immaculate timing, perfect shot-selection, etc. It would be quite similar to Diaz-Marquez. The question is how Marquez reacts to Cotto's shots... ESPECIALLY THE BODY-SHOTS (pre or post Margarito doesn't matter, them left-hooks are no joke!).
