Hmmm..........I go by the reasoning that LW Pryor is pretty much the same fighter he was at 140 but 5lbs less in weight.

If anyone's gonna stop Pryor at this weight, it could well be Williams. I go for Williams to try and mix it up, hitting Pryor from mid-range and mixing it up as well. However, I say Pryor throws enough punches AND uses his underrated backfoot boxing skills to take a close decision over 15. I think Williams scores a KD in the first three rounds, which makes it even closer.

I can just see the spears flying toward me now.

if wlilliams decides to mix it up with pryor at any stage that would be a mistake, not that this is easy for pryor at all but i see pryor winning a ud on work-rate

I think Williams would certainly have to mix it up here, and yes i defo see a knockdown of Pryor as well, very likely early. What a fight this would be, imagine Pryor swarming all over his man and Williams finding the room to fire all kinds of hell back at him, even pushing Pryor off him possibly, where i reckon Pryor starts to box but Williams has counters created with feigned jabs. Then Pryor just jumps on him again and that lasts for a while. 'What a fight' is about all there is to be said here.

I don't think you can go wrong here, i'm picking Williams to win a war.

A swarming Pryor gets dropped early, maybe twice. Then finds his rythum later on and comes on strong Williams holds his steady pace & doesn't waver. Pryor's early Knockdowns cost him as Williams scores a close decision win.

    You reckon?

Williams, on engagement, was an absolutely fierce puncher - quick, accurate, powerful, numerous. I wouldn't go as far as to say Williams was the greatest puncher ever (he could box good too, and so didn't have a spectacular knockout ratio), but I would say that on film he has the most vicious and concise offensive display I've ever seen. That was against Jose Maria Gatica in 1951, who imposed himself upon Williams in round one but was soon decked three times by a couple of single shots and then a barrage that I've not seen equalled by Joe Louis nor Ray Robinson.

If Pryor mixes it up, I think he is the one making the mistake, as a retaliatory Williams was as powerful as Alexis Arguello (to make a parallel) and every bit as precise, but quicker and relentless.

Pryor could even find himself struggling to hold his body upright as early as he decided to take it to Ike.

I completely disagree. Pryor would be a in a lot more trouble in that scenario if you ask me. He'd do best if he stuck to boxing in portions like he did against Arguello, otherwise he stands a real chance of eating some nasty shots. Ones that he might not shrug off so easily.

I agree with everyone about the misguided 'would be a mistake comment'. LW Williams was far more dangerous than past prime and best weight Arguello, who was still exceptional but caused Pryor a lot of problems.

    Ike by dec .
Pryor came through the bombs of Arguello ,but I dont think he could do that to Williams ,Ike had faster hands and better combinations imo .Pryor boxed with his head up, do that against Ike and you hit the canvas at some point ,maybe more than once.
Pryor was stong and brave with an intense work rate , he goes the distance but gets a fearful beating here.Black bottle or no.

No worries. Just think it's probably best not to take bias into your predictions.
