 I couldn't helop you on that one.

Spoiler: Well, IMO, Cotto completely controlled the fight. He ended up with a huge cut and could have pulled out to win the fight on points a few more rounds after he got cut. He didn't so rather than continue to press, he tried his best to sensibly control the fight (to protect the cut) by working on the outside and tried to win rounds effectively rather than being aggressive after he had had some success on the inside earlier on. Had he not got cut, I think he would have completely turned it on- he never had Clottey hurt but he did give him some uncomfortable moments at times but then stepped off because he was wary of being caught as he couldn't see out of the side of his face the blood was on. It was a completely logical way to fight but people moaned about it.

Ultimately, IMO, it was close in the end because Cotto chose to make it close. Clottey wasn't 'robbed'- he just had a close fight. Cracking fight, though:good.

Not at all. I said it was close but Clottey wasn't robbed. I was also careful to use 'IMO' in my assessment as well. How is that biased? Shall I do a run-down of the Margo fight just for you, Kos, to prove I'm not biased?:bart:D

As you've picked mine apart, feel free to enter your rundown of the fight below...:good

I said it was biased because you never mentioned anything of what Clottey did 'IMO' ;)

I will do a rundown, just give me a few minutes to write it :good

:goodPerhaps I should have put more in about Clottey reading it back. I was all angry about the criticism so I supposed it was a veiled attempt at rebuking that:lol::patsch.

'Clottey is a tough sumbitch and gave plenty in the fight. He never allowed Cotto to hurt him and there was a flash KD in the first that Clottey was at fault for allowing it to happen. In the latter rounds Clottey started sitting off when he should have been pressing. Had he been a bit more productive, he could have won the fight. As always, he exhibited a tidy defence throughout and frustrated Cotto at times. His little jig on the way to the ring was also a highlight!'

    I typed that quickly!

Clottey started well, and he was getting the jab off in the first round and he would have won the round if it had not been for the knockdown when an over-zealous Clottey went on the attack and paid for it by being floored by Cotto, who jabbed Clottey whilst he was off-balance.

The early rounds were close, but Cotto did enough to have maybe a 2 point lead going into the middle-rounds, although a cut to his eye (which happened earlyish I think) was obviously proving to be hampering him and Clottey continued to target the eye.

Clottey bossed the middle-rounds and hurt Cotto on a couple of occasions, which looked like he could have enough to make Cotto quit. Clottey was using some nice combinations when he let his punches go, although his workrate was not high, and it was only going to get worse...

Knowing that the fight was close (I had Clottey ahead slightly), Cotto knew he had to have a change of plan, so instead of standing and fighting with Clottey, he started moving around the ring landing pot shots, combo's and grabbing the rounds. It also didn't help that Clottey was being lazy and not throwing many punches, as well as just covering up and letting Cotto attack him whilst on the ropes. Cotto won the majority of the latter rounds, and as a result of this he won the fight with a very close decision and let Clottey regret the decision of coasting the latter rounds.

Nice roundup, Kos:good. I saw what you meant when I read it back- I wasn't supposed to come across as Puerto Rico's travel information^^^. You didn't mention Clottey's jig, though:yep.

    Foreman vs Chuvalo
    Foreman vs Norton
    Foreman vs Frazier

Big George at his destructive best.

It's been a while since I watched 'Foreman vs the 5', think I will tomorrow - one of the funniest and most bizarre things I have seen in boxing, its up there with the Holmes dropkick and the fan-man :yep

I can just about stand watching Trinidad-Hopkins, because Tito shows great heart getting up to make the count, so its worth it just for that moment, and also his entrance which is great.

I don't watch Trinidad-Winky, despite it being a great performance from Winky, I don't like to see one of my favourite fighters humiliated like that
