DQ'ed for holding and hitting? When has that even ever happened in boxing history?

Anyway Lennox had 1 of the most effective damaging uppercuts in HW history alongside Tyson.

    I like Foreman's a lot.

Liston has a pretty nice one too for the ones that weren't mentioned.

Jack Johnson... brought people onto that punch so well...

And Tyson's double uppercut through the guard was tasty as well.

I dont know if I'd say "despicable", but it did look like Lewis did the same foul once after he was warned. But Bruno was exactly 100% fighting clean in that fight, not that that excuses it.

I think Lewis-Grant was far more severe case of fouling, gratuitously. Twice Grant is knocked down by blatant and brutal fouls. Including the final one.

Nah he's just using his hands to manouver his man for a money shot, pretty similar to what Tyson used to do and plenty of other top fighters

Like Ricky Hatton says 'its not a tickling contest'

You mean he was using one hand as a tee and the other as a baseball bat? That was pretty bad.

The Grant fights looks worse every time I see it.
Left hand is for holding, right hand is for hitting. Lennox ruined him.

Lewis didn't quite hit as hard there then in years later.

I dont know about that. He scored some of his best KOs in the early 90s. I'd rate his power punch in the Ruddock fight as up there with what he did to Rahman.

Ruddock was a little damaged by Tyson. You don't think the 10-15 lbs of muscle and growing into his body with the new Stewart in his corner helped Lewis hit harder? I know he improved balance and such, but I believe his right was a bit more nasty in the mid to late 90's rather than early 90's.

Its smart flipping the opponents left down with your jabing hand lets you smash them with your right, no point punching gloves. Its something loads of great fighters do

One of the best, for sure. He only developed his right uppercut under tutelage of Steward in '96 and used it thoroughly and successfully throughout the remainder of his career. Watch the second round of the McCall rematch, he literally lifts him off the floor as Oliver bull rushes in. Of course, McCall being McCall he shook it off with an emotionless expression.
