Sounds like "IF" talk to me... Then again I defo expected the loser come NOV. to say they would hang it up. (Be it either Pac/Cotto)

well his contracts till 2011 it says.... 30s a good age to retire anyways especially if he doesnt have anymore goals in boxing.
I hope he don't retire. win/lose or draw... he should be moving up to 154 in future & trying to win a title there (which he certainly can)... and be trying to add good names to his resumé to help boost his legacy!
He's been saying he wants to retire at 30 for years. Nothing new here, other than the part about burning his gloves. Pac is also already talking retirement after three more fights.
Cotto has been talking retirement for a VERY long Time..... He has been investing alot, he is better off than PBF right now in all reality, he just doesnt say or show it. Cotto owns 7 to 8 Gas Stations... and several apartment complex's, condo's and homes which he rents out in Puerto Rico. Cotto also makes money from his promotional company Miguel Cotto Promotions. All of this is not because of Cotto... its his Father who is a great business man and has made some very wise decisions on Cotto's behalf.... his dad helps him control everything.
:good:good:good:good Ya most of this isnt new i just seen it and thought id post it as now more then ever he seems more eager to retire.... which aye, in two more years that wont be too bad, he will basically have fought everyone there is to fight and have his own legacy (whatever that will be in two years time is whats interesting) and i HOPE he retires with one loss with an * next to it.
It always good to hear a boxer is investing in their future after boxing. Too many boxers (even great ones), end up with nothing after such a brutal sport. Often they never had people handling their money that really cared about them, so it's good to hear his dad is looking out for his best interest. I couldn't see Miguel fighting much past 30 anyway. A couple more huge fights I think and it would be for the best, even though he gives fans quality fights, better a little early than too late.
Agreed, and it also provides yet more evidence of his decline and lacklustre performances by comparison to his form of 2 years or so ago.
I'm glad he's talking retirement, he's my favorite fighter of all time and I would hate for him to end up like Meldrick Taylor or anyone like that who has suffered too much ring damage.
Cotto is a completely different individual than that of De La Hoya, if he says something he means it. He'll retire before 30 and I am sure of it, this doesn't mean he's lost his hunger, he'll go to work just like he's done for each and every one of his fights. Nothing different. He's a warrior with a warrior mentality, he's just talking retirement because its basically around the corner if he makes the right choices.
