Buddy Mcgirt on Brewster vs Wlad (the rematch) This content is protected Brewster was eating jabs right from round 1 and the stupid Mcgirt keep saying . . . back him up! Back him up! repeatedly in between rounds. :rofl
i don't really feel like looking them up, but there are already some great threads on this subject. :good
Emanuel Steward in Taylor/Pavlik 1, around 6th round. "You're conditioning is beautiful. He's slowing down." :nut Jack Leow in Hopkins/Pavlik in between every round. "Kelly, l listen to me, you have to double the jab."
This fight wasn't even televised, but I was once an assistant trainer in the corner of an average fighter. He was doing decent the first couple rounds, pressuring and cutting the ring, but his slick opponent had just about figured him out at the 10th bell, and our boy was getting desperate. The guy I was working with, who was a stupid moron, said to the fighter "I think if you let him hit you, he'd try to go on the offensive. You can counter him!" The fighter really looked up to Jim, so he took the advice. I was mortified. Our kid gets stopped the very next round, hands at his waist, and the last words me and Jim shared were, "Nice plan, jackass."
He does seem to say that evey round. And he also adds if his fighter is doing bad, "Talk to me baby, what's wrong." Then he pauses, "Have some water baby."
"We need this round! You wanna be champion of the world? We need this round!" Lou Duva, giving such idiotic advice to Meldrick Taylor just before the 12th round in a fight he was HANDILY winning (Chavez-Taylor I).
