it was JMM's decision to move up to WW...he is the man at LW...dominant...allegedly the #2 p4p fighter in the world but PBF is cherrypicking sfter a year and a half layoff...he could have taken a much easier fight

PBF is a defensive counter-puncher who looks to outbox you and win by UD. If the KO is there he will take it. With that said PBF will catch JMM with something he doesn't see hurt him and finish him off. I disagree with this outclassing guys and putting on clinics like he does 95% of the time is just as good. When your opponent can't even land a clean shot on you and you can hit them at will is just as satisfying and harder to combat against.

I think Floyd can stop Marquez if he goes for it. He's all wrong for JMM, and Floyd's inevitable decline isn't likely to show up against such an aged opponent fighting way above his weight.

I'm going to buy this fight but am not terribly optimistic it will be competitive or exciting. Hope I'm wrong.

Didn't PBF start at 130? Not to mention PBF doesn't use his strength to beat people enough with the size ****. PBF has gone from 130-154 and has beaten bigger guys if JMM is the goods he'll be able to do the same.:deal

I never understood that. "oh he started as a lightweight himself".

When I was 15 I weighed 125lbs. Im now 30 and weigh 180. Floyd grew, and he's now no longer a 130lb fighter. What dont u get?

Marquez has grown too, and has indicated that he will go to 140 lbs. after this fight.

Doesn't matter that's the weight he started as a pro and was linear at. He fought most of his fights there as well. Like I said earlier PBF doesn't use his size and strength like Margo does for example to beat people. He uses skill to beat people and that's the reason why he can move from 130-154 remain undefeated and win titles. And someone like Margo who drains his ass off can't even go up one weight class without getting their ass kicked and running back down to 147.

Marquez has grown, but he hasnt proven himself against bigger and better fighters. Floyd has and so has Pacquaio. Marquez has been tested only once at 135, and never at 140 or anywhere above.

Mayweather was fighting at 135 4 years ago dope. Not 15. :rofl

Mayweather is a small small welter. He weighs in at the limit. Berto, Mosley, Cotto all come at 160 on fight night. The difference in weight between Marquez and Floyd in real terms is minimal.

Exactly! PBF comes inn for a fight at 147 on fight night at 148 or 149. Hell most guys who fight at 140 come in on fight night weighing more than that.

I agree with u here. I just didnt agree with the fact that u were trying to justify this fight by saying that Floyd started at 130, therefore there's no problem fighting a LW.

Ok. If Floyd is a "small small welter" as u put it, there's a division for that. Its called "Junior Welterweight" On top of that, if Floyd is so small of a ww, why did he try to get the fight at 147?
