Very interesting. I knew some of it already, but the effects on allergies are new to me.

Too many to mention really. A few seem to stand out as far as benefits are concerned, like ginseng for example, but that may also be because the rest simply has not been researched yet. The body is a complex machine and can break down and reassemble many chemicals, think of the often ingenious ways it handles more common nutrients. I think many are to a degree interchangeable, and therefore I just mix them up. I do the same for vegetables, I don't really believe there is a miracle food. Variation is the key.

yes if you are going to drink any kind of milk buy raw milk rather then the pasteurized kind. the raw spoils quicker but has vitamins and nutrients you dont get in the pasteurized kind. it even helps with asthma *supposedly*

i read the list and while i dont box, just run and do ballet and yoga to keep fit, here are some things i take that could also help

aloe vera. you can get it in either capsules or juice. it's good for your joints.

maca root powder. i use this for energy. you can mix it into yogurts/smoothies. it has kind of a nutty taste which....i guess can be an acquired taste. it really works tho. and i swear by it.

apples. lots of antioxidants. i like to cook them and add cinnamon to them. different kinds of berries & kiwi, mango -love this one- are also good to eat.

raw honey. restores your bodies glycogen levels after excercise

acai berry. popular in south america. very good for your cardiovascular system.

coconut(young if you can find it). the water inside purifies the blood. it's also a good fat and lowers cholesterol

tea is a good suggestion. green or black is good.

oatmeal. not a lot of calroies, lots of fiber, good for the heart and digests slowly so you get a lasting supply of energy.

garlic. not really related but if you're sick eat whole cloves. it's antiviral. problem is no one will wnat to kiss you ha ha :p

the key is to be smart and watch what you eat. if you eat good, clean, nutritious foods you shouldnt have a problem. what you put in has a big effect on how yoru body reacts.

    Sure.

About a glass of orange juice, 3/4 liters of yogurt, two bananas, about 5 strawberries, and about two hands of blackberries/red currant/blueberries (I mixed them together in a bag). Ground flaxseed, about four or five table spoons. If there's still room in the blender I add some quark (fromage frais). Peaches make it in sometimes as well. Add more orange juice if it's too solid.

the necessity's for a smoothie are juice (apple, orange, multivitamin juice), yoghurt (natural probiotic)and fruit

    my typical smoothie;

    -apple juice
    -probiotic yoghurt
    -banana
    -apple
    -orange
-handful of some type of berries (cherries, red grapes, raspberries, blackcurrants, strawberries)this adds a nice colour and strong taste
-2 tablespoons of oil (hazelnut or grapeseed) provides good fats
    -glucosamine and omega 3 supplement
    -handful of porridge oats

sometimes after a hard training i will put in a small tin of tuna, i know im gonna get slated for this

I knew you did Yoga.... the thought came into to my head instantly when I spoke to you about Italian composers. I'm so smart.:yep Do you like swimming aswell?

Anyway, regarding this thread what I like to do when I train for a fight as I struggle making weight is eat alot of little meals during the day and my body deals with it much better. I also try to make sure whatever I'm eating is made of half vegetables and the other half protien.... the only carbohydrate based foods I try and eat oats and bread with lots of seeds in it.

I sure miss tripple chocolate fudge Ice ceam though.:-(.... and Burgers and bacon and cheese and sausages and chips and chinese food and hot hot Indian food......:tired:tired:tired

Please do. I'm considering doing some yoga myself to increase balance and flexibility, any advice would be welcome.
