Haye did an excellent job raising expectations when he goaded and then signed to fight wlad Klitchsko. An injury to his back ended the 'mouth watering' prospect of this fight happening.

He then signed/agreed (only he knows) to fight Vitali and then backed out so we're told; even if he didn't sign he definately backed out after a lot of 'expectation inducing' talk and hype.

I'm personally disappointed and would not be surprised if his peers disparage and question his lack of fighting heart. I mean, with the exception of possibly Holyfield, I can't recall many fighters who moved up to heavyweight and landed a title fight!

And, in my humble opinion, Haye appears to be too 'clued up' and intelligent to then suggest that he potentially entered into a contract with Vitali that was demeaning and exploitative.

Dave, you definately need to "follow the yellow brick road," and practice the art of "doing" and then "talking" about it!

It took Holyfield 6 fights at HW to get a shot at the HW crown.

I agree Haye has let the boxing world down, and most of all his own fans. However, it seems as if he gets a free pass from them again - I guess the man can just do no wrong in their eyes.

David Haye is the most boring heavyweight in the division.

    He doesn't even have fights.

You give the guy the benefit of the doubt when he says he has an injury, but when he backs out of an already announced fight to go after an inferior opponent then he's let the boxing community down.

I didn't agree with calling him a ***** for walking out of the Wladimir fight, even though I now doubt he injured himself, but I really have nothing good to say about what he did to the Vitali fight. Fulfill your obligations or **** off.

Why should he agree to fight under demeaning and unfair terms just to keep you pricks happy. He has a career to think about!!

I have no idea why Haye has been given the opportunity to fight three champions off the back of a win over Monte Barrett. I have no doubt he's let his fans down and he's pretty much scuppered his chances of fighting the best in the devision and unifying any titles I doubt the Klithskos will enter into negotiations with Haye again.

Ask him that, because he did agree and then walked away after arrangements were being made. He should never have agreed in the first place if it was such a bad deal.

Personally, I feel a bit let down as a result of all of Haye's recent shenanigans. That said, he never actually signed a contract with Vitali- they were only ever in negotiations.

Haye doesn`t even have the balls to show us if he`s a fraud or not! Wonder how he will back out against Valuev

Think he just likes to be in the spotlight!

He got injured, that happens in boxing. I know there are many rumors he did it on purpose to save "face" or whatever, in the end it's an injury so let's move on.

At least Haye brought excitement to the division like never before. The last time people were this excited for a "possible" heavyweight fight was V.Klitschko/Lewis II.

David Haye claims the terms were unfair. David Haye and his management also walked out of negotiations with Kevin Johnson and Hasim Rahman and Haye fought twice since November 2007. He seems to think a little too much and not see his position realistically. As a poster above mentioned, Holyfield fought six times at HW, after being undefeated at cruiser (unlike Haye) before landing a title fight. Why did he sign the same "unfair" terms with Wlad in the first place?

What excitement? Trash talk is exciting only for a littel while. Haye has never added a meaningful fight to the HW division, his outing against Barrett was a sloppy affair. When was the last time a fighter has brought that much letdown to the division? I am a lot more excited about Vitali - Arreola and Wlad - Chambers, because these are very likely to actually happen.
