No he didn't. He took away the jab because he was a fast southpaw - not because he was an amazing technical fighter. And he windmilled like a mutha ****a which allowed him to outscore his opponents. He simply out worked Kessler, Eubank, Lacy and Hopkins (debatable) thats not taking away there strengths thats just common sense.

What other fighters did he magically technically shut down. Its a falicy -he wasn't an great fighter.

Pacman, Trinidad, De la Hoya, Mayweather, Whitiker, Lewis, Holyfield, Tyson, Barrera, Morales, Naseem, Marquez, Toney, Hopkins, Ronald Wright, Mosley, Cotto were all miles better then him and thats the tip of the iceberg. I'm just picking names out at random.

Cotto has beaten more quality names already and still has time on his side. Also as a technician h2h he stands miles beyond Calzaghe- no doubt.

I think what you overlook with Calzaghe is his ability to get a result. A lot of the time, the all round package is greater than something that looks pretty... and you even have to admit, Calzaghe, though not quite up to that beaut in your avatar, is actually better looking than most of the fighters you listed.

Not a chance. He's minging to watch. Horrible. I would never in my dreams pass that on to someone and say try and replicate that. Its awful. Getting results in fights such as most of his defences was hardly challenging for a supposed world class fighter. Only his consistancy was notable.

The guy was batterered by Margarito.

Jeff Lacy was Calzaghe's Margarito, loaded gloves would not have helped Lacy.

Cotto consistantly beat titlists yes, but not one great oppontent.

Yes he beat Mosley, but Mosley struggled with Mayorga and a shot Vargas.

Kessler's form eclipses that of Mosley.

Cotto hasn't improved from the time he was a prospect unfortunately.

He is a waste of talent, should have had a different trainer.

Calzaghe can throw more punches than Cotto, which should count for something.

Cotto's resume is superior to Calzaghe's already, and by some distance. Plus Cotto probably has 4/5 fights left.

He is right though...you could never see Calzaghe losing to a Margarito. No chance in hell, it just wouldn't happen.

Calzaghe is also vastly superior to Ronald Wright on film. Wright is too static.

How is Kostya Tszyu greater than Joe Calzaghe, Losfer? I am just interested in your rationale.

Tszyu is the only fighter in history who would beat Calzaghe in a mythical P4P H2H matchup.

Perhaps, but then again Joan Guzman is also close behind.
