Fighters that put there gameplan together perfectly?

There are some fighters who you can't help but admire there ability to put there gameplan in action and do what they said they were going to do step by step. For example when hopkins said he was going school pavlik and make him realise hes been lied to, that hopkins is not over and he made it clear by the tym the 3rd round ended.

we all know how the "one - two roll under, same move every tym" went, but like it or not that was a very good gameplan implemented as pacquiao plotted his counters and got the knockout how he wanted. Do you guys know anymore example? and it doesnt have to be current fighters.

 

Well, the gameplan of Evander Holyfield worked perfectly against Tyson didn't it?

Know when to tie up, use much longer reach and counter from the outside.

I dont know if corrales' fight with castillo is a great example of a perfectly executed gameplan. he almost got knocked out and by the grace of god pulled the fight out from the depths of hell.

Pacqiuao-Hatton. Perfect gameplan, perfect execution:good.

 

Floyd vs Chico Corrales (circle him, move laterally, stay moving and then surpise him with combos in and out)

Corrales vs. Casamayor II - The way he kept Joel outside of his jab was brilliant

Hopkins vs. DLH - a fight most people wouldn't expect but they knew (you can hear Nazim Richardson all during the fight) exactly what DLH was going to do by trying to basically potshot and shoeshine his way to a victory. They lured Oscar into doing that KNOWING he'd tire mid fight. Once he tasted Hopkins punches, he'd be in retreat and it was only a matter of time which is exactly what occurred.

James Toney vs. Evander Holyfield - James knew that his hand speed would be a problem for heavyweights. At the same time, many people believed James couldn't take a heavyweight punch and in this fight Holyfield's output was by far much more than it was in recent fights. James basically outboxed Holyfield like he said he would. He did that by beating Evander to the punch, moving oh so slightly to not be countered but be in a position to defend and counter himself.

 

It was part of the gameplan though. I remember when I was watching the fight I thought he was being a moron. I expected him to fight like he did in the casamayor rematch and couldn't understand why he was just standing there.

Afterwards he was asked why and he said that his plan was to go toe to toe because he knew that Castillo was such a tough fighter. He said that he knew that there was a big risk associated with it but that he felt that if he tried outboxing him and didn't hurt him early and often he would be figthing a very fresh strong guy in the later rounds.

The fight played out how he thought it would. He slugged it out and was nearly decapitated in the process but by that 10th rounds Castillo was battered as well and he was able to pull the win out of the gates of hell like you said

 

ehh, thats a funny way to look at it, actually laugh out loud funny but not in a bad way, imagining chico thinking to himself, "this is exactly how I planned it" as he was getting knocked down twice, appearing almost near death in the tenth round. I just don't think that was a gameplan well executed, especially considering that his mouthpiece saved him from a gameplan gone terribly wrong.

 

Hopkins-Trinidad. He took everything away that Tito did well, then did what he wanted to do the whole fight.

If there were any definition of schooling, it would be that fight.

But mad respect to Tito though, no one would never fault him for ducking anyone, despite King's objections at times. He was the man.

 

In general, I'd rate Hopkins as the best. He can neutralize all of your strengths.
