http://www.aiba.org/en-US/news/ozqsp/newsId/2432/news.aspx What do you think of this? The fact that they are cutting down on the entries for men is complete ****. Damn.
Who cares, they're cutting out the 106lbs weight class. One of the smallest weight classes out there.
I don't know why they're cutting down the entries for men. But I'm glad that the top female amateurs finally get a chance to shine. The person who taught me how to box is in Toronto today to do a press conference about the announcement. Chances are she's going to London in 2012
Load of crap! I mean, look at the number of medals rowing and swimming have. ****ing one arm-tied behind the back, rotating butterfly while on your back relay. I'm happy womens boxing is included in the olympics because there are some great fighters who should have the chance to shine on that level, but I hate the fact that it comes at the cost of mens entries - considering in general mens boxing is more attractive to spectators and will always be more prestigious. Its bad enough that in stronger regions you have top class guys not getting in, and then wild cards with under ten bouts coming in through other regions. On the other hand, I think the new AIBA seeding system for these world championships is a great idea.
Shut up you whiners! So one men's weight gets cut, big deal. How many guys weigh 106 pounds anyway? The females are getting 3 classes, how is that equal? The big ***** for the men was that there had to be 11 classes because anything less was unsafe. So how is it safe to have gals who walk around in the 120s boxing girls who are under 106 pounds? Because that is what is going to happen.
