Them two make me laugh...i really hope they can pull it round and get back on track but i'm never sure if these two will because both have said this type stuff before. They show how hard it is to be a pro boxer that's for sure..

    Wasters.

Can you even take them seriously?

    Does anybody seriously believe them?

They sound off their head in the video.

I'll never forget the time I was talking to Gavin Rees In Las Vegas for the Calzaghe v Hopkins weigh in. Nice guy but the beer gut on him was something that some of the locals in my local pub would have been proud of. I don't take anything he says serious until I see him win a good fight in the ring again.

Pro boxers that have no restraint when it comes to diet really annoy me. When you have enough talent to challenge for world titles but not enough will power to just eat properly then you are wasting an opportunity that so many people would kill to have. Even when I was training for martial arts comps (not on the same level as a pro boxer, I know) I had an immaculate diet, and for literally years without any transgressions. What's wrong with these guys?

    On a different note...

Calzaghe...I remember when I first introduced a mate to boxing and it was a Calzaghe fight and my mate said to me, he doesn't look that big for a boxer, and commented on the lack of definition of his muscles. He probably had the best stamina in the game so it isn't a fitness thing. He had a bit more definition when he was younger but even then he wasn't exactly ripped.

Is that just because you don't need to look like a greek god to be in shape, or is it something that was ever present in the newbridge gym, poor nutrition?

Calzaghe could outspeed and outlast almost anyone in his division, im not expert on his dietary habits but id be inclined to say that its just his natural physique, especially given he was still goig strong into his late 30's.

Some fighters just dont have what it takes on the inside to be champions .. They may have the capabilities and skills to be boxers but they're human fraility destroys any chance that they might have ..
Pryce and Rees are on the low end scale of that, they are ok but a guy like Kirkland Laing had the world at his feet, all the boxing ability in the world and he just tossed it away ..

Being ripped has nothing to do with being a great boxer .. Frank Bruno had an adonis body but when he got hit he went to mush .. Having too big muscles slows you down and affects your reflex's detrimentally. Look at James Toney, one of the finest technicians in the sport, more boxing ability in his little toe than Calzaghe and he is an overweight Middle/LHW ..

Muscle men dont make good boxers

spoke to pryce and he doesnt the guy didnt even watch hatton vs mayweather that who much he follows the sport, he couldnt name a world champion at his weight, then he said vernon forrest and i explain he had died.

pryce still looks out of shape.

No, I understand that but I struggle to think of another top class boxer in the modern era with his physique. Look at hopkins, mayweather, jones, eubank, benn even hatton when he's in the ring. Pavlik is one other actually...

Toney is just blatently out of shape.
