Damn why the insult? My bad. I don't live 20 minutes from Cotto. Cotto drinks? Good for him. Cotto is a fighter that is like quiet. He doesn't have Hatton or maybe any other fighters personality. Now in pre fights, Maybe you agree that Cotto doesn't talk trash, doesn't make jokes. Cotto is all class in which he lets his fist do the talking come fight night. But dude don't come here and attack me saying " i don't know **** about Cotto" i wasn't even talking bad about him. I like Cotto as a fighter and as a person.

Explain the mentality of the English sports fan in 25 words or less and you are a better poet than Shakespeare. Very parochial fans, bigger base than Puerto Rico I hazard a guess.

Hatton is British, British fans know how to support their athletes whether in boxing or any other sport. Mexican fans fall in the same category.

Puerto Rican fans too though the support for Cotto can't compare with Trinidad. Think it's because the majority still miss Trinidad or Cotto lacks the personality. He sure as hell has the fighting style they appreciate most. Calderon gets insane support in Puerto Rico and he's a defensive fighter/mover.

    What he said.
    To add:
Population: UK-61 million. Puerto Rico- 4 million
Ricky Hatton is also the son and grandson of popular former pro soccer players. His win over Tszyu made him skyrocket in popularity.

Cotto drinks like any other adult. Call him a drinker is very stupid. You are just repeating stupid comments people say. The stupid story about the drug dealer.I don't really know if that ever happens but let say its true.... Why didn't he fight Cotto??? I guess with guns and people behind you anybody is brave.
You don't get to be world champion by drinking. Cotto has work very hard for what he got. IF he wants to have a drink once in a while that is his ****ing business. He is a ****ing adult and has the money to buy the drink. THIS IS THE PROBLEM WITH MANY PEOPLE IN THE ISLAND. CAN'T WAIT A ****ING SECOND TO TALK **** ABOUT THEIR OWN RACE. I USED TO LIVE WALKING DISTANCE FROM THE BAIROA GYM. NEVER TRAIN THERE BECAUSE I MOVED TO CAGUAS ABOUT 10 YEARS AFTER THE LAST TIME I LACE THEM UP.
THERE IS NOT REASON FOR STUPID COMMENTS LIKE THIS!!!

Hatton's personality created him a unique British following. A following which comprised mainly of football fans who knew very little about boxing, and would therefore pay to watch him fight almost anyone.

:lol::lol: You new fans are always good for a laugh. I guess Warrens extremely shrewd marketing courtesy of the WBU had nothing to do with it. Sand to the Arabs mate. And the paying public were stupid enough to buy it.

Not really sure what the hell anyone is talking about. The only PPV sales that it makes sense comparing between Pacquaio and Cotto and Pacquiao v Cotto are US PPV sales.

So how many people live in the UK, etc is completely irrelevant.

So you think taking on consideration the PPV sales in Europe makes no sense??? Let me remind you the EURO is doing much better than the dollar:deal

Of course it makes no sense. And what on earth do currency markets have to do with anything (much less the fact that the UK does not have the euro...).
