WOMEN'S BOXING WON'T BE PRIME ATTRACTION FOR ME http://www.independent.ie/sport/oth...-wont-be-prime-attraction-for-me-1860988.html OLYMPIC BATTLE FOR BARNES AS HIS WEIGHT CATEGORY IS DROPPED http://www.irishnews.com/articles/597/556/2009/8/14/624995_390618749026Olympicba.html
Thats it Rumour has it Peters will be doing a show before Christmas I would imagine they will have Andy Murray top of the bill its such a shame to waste the statium
alltough he put on lots of promotions he peters is NO true friend of irish boxing trying to lock out the Suttcliffe,s Hyland,s collins,s etc the down to earth real boxing people who spend 7 days a week in their gyms training kids of all ages putting on amatuer shows entering boy,s into all championsips and are not allowed run a show in THEIR Stadium because of (peters :twisted
I thought my sarcasm was implied.. but lets get this straight its not Peters fault he got an exclusive deal the blame should be left at the door of the IABA and Mister O'Rourke
very true o,rourke is the worst president in the history of te IABA imo done a financial deal with peters that was ridiculous and peters has,nt used the stadium since so peters gets what he wants keep the real boxing people out of the stadium and stadium lose out on boxing shows and more finance small minded iaba
brian peters was on the radio and said mccloskey probably wont be on the dunne undercard but will fight for the european title in october. he also said dunnes fight might not be in september but maybe in october also. if this as true than october will be a marathon month for irish boxing with rogie, mccloskey and dunne all in action and hopefully duddy and lee will fight in the states.
the prolem will be what dates peters goes with in october is he just trying to draw the fans away from the Rogie show which he,s done in the past
Intruiging stuff there! What radio station is he on? I gave up trying to get an interview with him! But he did leave me a voicemail once!
What people seem to forget about Peters is that he is a businessman first and foremost. He's not in it for the love of the sport or anything like that. His bottom line is raking in the €€€. He shouldn't be blamed for that either. I find him a very frustrating manager/promoter in the way he handles some stuff. He can also be a devious little **** when he wants to be but the same goes for all successful businessmen. The IABA take the blame for the situation with the stadium. Talk about locking out Irish fighters is fine but its not in Peters best interests to let other promoters make a big reputation over here. An ideal world for him is a complete monopoly on live boxing events. Anyway, I'm hearing good things back from the Dunne camp about how training is going. Apparently he is relishing it even more this time around. The lad I was talking to told me Bernard is mad for the hard work because he knows the results it can yield. He knows that he will reap the benefits of stamina and power if he puts in the hard work. I've got a bit of a look at Poonswat on some DVD's and he's a tough man. Its going to be a long night and likely to go to the cards. I hope Bernard is keeping his skills sharp as well as gaining power

The Manchester trainer has only had the keys to Billy Graham's famous Phoenix camp for 12 months, but he believes he can usurp the base that made Ricky Hatton a legend. Renaming it "Gallagher's" he has set his sights on emulating Freddie Roach's legendary LA gym. Amir Khan recently became Roach's 25th world champion, which is the measure of the task Gallagher has set himself. But he believes his burgeoning stable is ready to take boxing by storm. British number one lightweight, John Murray, and British middleweight champion, Matthew Macklin are the shining lights of his camp. But with emerging talents like Olympian and World amateur bronze medallist, Joe Murray, and Danny Randle, he believes he has the fighters to dominate boxing for years to come. John Murray bids to reclaim the British title he was stripped of in June - for failing to make the weigh-in for his defence to Scott Lawton - when facing Jon Thaxton in October. He is also the mandatory challenger for Anthony Mezaachi's European crown. Manchester boxing Macklin, meanwhile, will aim to become European champion when taking on Amin Asikainen next month. Gallagher says it is the dawn of a new era for Manchester boxing. "In the space of a couple of weeks we will have Macklin going for the European title and Murray going for the British title," he said. "Macklin is fighting at the Velodrome and Murray at Altrincham so it is the chance for Manchester to really get behind them. "We've already had two British champions at our gym and by the end of the year we could have two European champions. "For all the great fighters Billy Graham had at this gym, he never had a European champion. That's the one belt missing." Gallagher has wasted little time in amassing a stable of experienced and up and coming fighters. Heavyweight Mike Holden, at 41, is the latest recruit, joining Femi Fehintola and a clutch of youngsters - Jose and Zach Burton, Liam Cullen and Seamus Macklin. "I want to be the Wild Card Gym of Britain," said Gallagher. "That's what drives me on and it shows in my fighters. "We are here for the long haul. I know one swallow doesn't make a summer and we are ready to move to the next stage. "We've got two fighters in Murray and Macklin who have conquered Britain, now it's time to conquer Europe and then the world. A bit on Macklins trainer, would he be better than Breen:think
