Taylor had already declined a bit when he stepped in with Lacy. That performance was why i picked Froch, if Lacy could put him on the canvas, the determined Froch should have been able to as well.
A outpoints B, C stops B, then C will def. beat A too!! Nope boxing doesn`t work that way, styles make fights! I expected most would realize that by now..
Taylor inst a KO fighter. He doesn't have that killer instinct and he just doesn't have much power. Your post is as ridiculous as those saying Pacquiao is better than Mayweather for disposing of Hatton/DLH quicker. Thats just not how it works.
That means nothing. Calzaghe didn't stop him either so he's crap too?, it's not like Lacy performed FAR better there. Point is all WON, that's what matters. Pavlik had a closer though clear win over Taylor in the rematch then Froch stops him, does that mean Froch is better than Pavlik? Another good example is how people **** on Donaire for not stopping his opponent, a guy who Arce stopped. Arce was stopped against Darchinyan and we all know what Donaire did to Darchinyan.
Erm does the fact Jones is a natural LHW who has been fighting the best LHW's in the world since 98 , and a former Heavy Weight champion enter your mind . Added to that Lacy is a natural SPMW , and Taylor now fighting at SPMW is not the biggest Super Middle who was forced to leave 160 because of Pavlik's dominance and lack of big named opponents . Lacy was beaten badly by Calzaghe and never recovered , then Taylor beat him and he has been in a few wars since , not wars on the scale of Pac Maquez but hard fought fights which also adds damage . In summary Jones establsihed at LHW , world class LHW all be it past his best , got hold of a badly beaten and confidence smashed Jeff Lacy at his natural weight class , Taylor soundly beats Lacy besides being the smaller man . So your point is . ???????
Taylor is as underated now as he was overrated before the Pavlik fights. How can you be criticised for so decisively beating a guy at your 1st fight in a new weight division!?!?!
Taylor is underrated. Something very rare for an American TV fighter. He is so because (in my oppinion) of his close fights with Hopkins. People feel he lost 1 or both and him gettin both wins made people feel he probably lost every fight and just got gifts..all along his carreer.
Calzaghe and perhaps more importantly the shoulder injury against Tyspko ended Lacy as a threat at the elite level. He still has a ton of heart and a more than decent chin though. Jones is a much harder hitter than Taylor, and even at his age still has fast hands, Lacy was a perfect style match up for Jones now, plodding slugger whose explosiveness is all gone, and throws single punches.
