So what is he waiting for? There are a lot of great matchups for him, Linares, Gamboa, Soto, Juan Diaz, Guzman, etc.

Valero would absolutely destroy everyone on your list with the exception of maybe Pacquiao because of all the incredible improvements he has made in the last couple of years. Guzman & Linares would be closely contested fights because of their defensive prowess but JMM would get sparked early as he's becoming far too hittable these days. Soto might last the distance if his chin can hold up but won't win in my opinion. The rest would be mere cannon fodder for Valero's knockout reel.

I was disappointed he didn't give Presscot a shot at his title. It seems silly for him to sit around waiting for a fight with Pac that probably isn't going to happen.

That could have been a good scrap. There is talk that he will be fighting in the undercard for Pacquaio - Cotto. Hopefully, he will be pitted against Soto, and not with some no-hopers.

I can feel you are not sober yet when you posted that imagination. Anyway, let's get real here people. Valero, inspite of all the hype surrounding his spectacular KO streak and legendary tales of sparring sessions, at this point, remains supremely untested against legit competition. It might not be his fault, since he has difficulty landing a fight in the US since that operation, but it is part of the reasons why some of us are not sold on this guy yet. Let him fight a Soto and we might have a better angle on how to view him among the lightweights, becasue when his best wins are against Mosquera and Pituala, then it only means he has not proven anything at higher level of competition. Until then, he is an intriguing exciting contender we would love to see against better comp, but nothing more.

Casamayor is past his prime....Juan Diaz??? He doesnt have the power, not a lot of movement...Valero would just walk right through his punches to land his own, and bam, down goes diaz...
