The boxer/swarmer vs the puncher? Who takes it?

Easy pick for Kane isn't it? With the BOOM and the BOOM. Kane wins a horrible encounter with a late TKO.

Harada was much more than just a swarmer, though. He was also an excellent mover and boxer. He had one of the most complete skill-sets of any fighter that's ever fought at the lower weights. I can't see him being favored over at Flyweight.

    You think Harada will win?

Well I suppose now Midget Wolagast has been jobbed, anything is possible.

Whats your reasoning for Kane being so guaranteed of victory Mc?

Harada was pretty damn brilliant at fly and there is film to prove it. From what Ive seen of Kane, he was technically inferior to Harada. He certainly hit harder and perhaps was stronger at fly. But thats hard to really be sure of seeing how Masahiko was so successful at higher weights.

Ill probably pass making a pick as I really havent seen enough of Kane and would probably like to see more of Harada at the weight before I could be sure.

I dont really know what Kane would do if he had to change up tactics..whereas I know Harada is capable of boxing if needed or just straight up swarming if that was that was the best option.

I know often there is an almost mathetmatical equation to these fights..High class puncher will quite often trump a hight class swarmer or at least take him right out of his game plan as he has to walk through hell to impose his style on the other guy.
But I think Masahiko has more dimensions to his game then people give him credit for..he just happen to be one of the best examples of a swarmer there ever has been and people tend to think thats the only way he knew how to win a fight.

Well i'm picking Harada, i've seen a bit of Kane. Harada's hands are accurate and fast, and he can do a bit of jabbing and taking a breather if he must in spots. Harada on points, but the prime Kane that drew with Lynch has a chance, not coming to fruition for my money though.

Well I wouldn't guarantee it, but is there a harder puncher at this weight?

Also, however adept Harada is, I wouldn't bet on his being a cleverer boxer than Lynch. Be a good one though.

Harada moving & boxing well to avoid trouble. Picking his spots in this one. Kane is looking for the opportunity to deliver powerpunches. all the while losing rounds to the busier Harada. Fighting Harada 15 round decision win.

The Harada that outboxed Jofre was much better than any version of Lynch I've seen on film, as limited as the footage may be. You can still gauge his style, and from what I've seen Harada was a much more technically skilled and able boxer. Lynch seemed a very crafty and clever puncher, but I strongly doubt he hit harder than Jofre. I also don't know if Kane hit even as hard as guys like Lynch or Wilde at Fly, to say nothing of the bigger Bantams that Harada took on.

Even if you are right, and Harada is better than Lynch, that is not strictly my point; my point is Kane was able to hang with Lynch in spite of his cleverness, and Lynch is craftier than Harada - Kane been painted to a degree in this thread as one dimensional, I think the Lynch thing proves this is not the case, that craft isn't a neatly packaged solution.

Maybe Harada could get by on boxing; maybe he couldn't. One thing is for sure, if you're a puncher this good Harada is not a fighter you **** it off being matched with. Everyone seems pretty happy that Harada wins this one, so I definitely am not going to insist or anything, but I wouldn't change my vote, either.

You make sound points but I still go for Kane by late stoppage I think he DID have extra power and it would show here ,Harada was not one dimensional by any means, but he grew into a better fighter when he went up imo.

Peter Kane was a great Flyweight

Harada was a great Fly and Bantam

Kane hung in with a fighter on the same level as Harada in Lynch.

I think Kane has a good stylisistic advantage but i think Harada is on the next level to him and would win in a very close fight with Haradas adaptability becoming the key factor for a 15 round UD

I tend to agree with you here. Harada was only 19 when he moved up to bantam and although he had been champ at fly was still pretty green. In his first fight with with Medel up at bantam he still looked pretty raw and paid the consequences against an experienced man who could punch. He also lost to Edmundo Esparza, another good pro who I'm familiar with. Fights like these that he learnt from are what brought him on at bantam.
At bantam I'd go for Harada but at fly Kanes greater experience, strength and punching power make he difference.
    Kane by stoppage in 10.

kane takes it for me ,harada was a great flyweight but so was kane if he could come out on top against lynch then he could hold his own against harada on the boxing side of things.so kane`s power i feel would perhaps give him the slightest of edges.harada would not be happy with the decision. i feel kane would score a kd and win a very disputed sd over the 15 rounds due to the kd . this is really a fight that could end as a draw or a harada win but i will stick with kane
