What does the term "Shot fighter" mean?

To me a shot fighter loses fights to guys he should have beaten.

It also means his skill set has dropped dramatically.

To and extent the "Shot fighter" term needs to be case specific to see where a fighter started from and to see where he is now......and RJJ came from lofty heights.

    So is RJJ shot?

10 points for the lateral movement Stifler. Lacy was definately the shot fighter at the weekend though. Here's the Brisbane Times' take on it:

'Jones, an eight-time world champion, looked lightning fast against an opponent who has clearly seen better days. The crowd chanting ''knock him out'' was a bitter epitaph for a fighter who was feared in his heyday...

'During the slaughter, Jones turned his head in Green's direction and yelled ''watch this'' before clubbing Lacy with damaging blows. On another occasion he commentated the bout for the benefit of the media, and on yet another occasion he responded to a fan's urging for him to finish Lacy off by landing a blow and then stopping to ask if that was what the punter had in mind'.

From that assessment Lacy might be more shot than Echols!
