Roy still has very fast hands. Even in the Calzaghe fight I thought his hands looked a little quicker than Joe's, and that's an old, shop worn Jones we're talking about.
fastest hands are Zab Judahs for sure, but that only lasts for a couple of rounds. Roy is still in the mix though, which is incredible for his age, size and what he's been through.
I will give you three... 1) [YT]jU2YPXghFkU[/YT] Debatable...tho I gotta say, the announcer on this fight was terrible. 2) [YT]QNnRfqvb_kw[/YT] I'd say yes...most definately. 3) [YT]lu3AlXuNazk[/YT] Undeniably yes. The fastest hands I have ever seen. Watch that highlight...his arms are legitly a blur. Simply amazing. Not to take away from Roy, because damn was he fast...but noone was Meldrick Taylor fast.
I gotta disagree here. Look at the two power shots Roy dropped on that fool at 2:32. Not jabs. Not flurries. Just straight in the middle of the ring standing toe to toe, full guard, and he fires two bombs and Knocks dude on his ass.
Roy Jones is one of my all time favorites, but my vote goes to this guy. [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKPDeMXiJHc/YT]
Roy never had the fastest hands in boxing, simply because flyweights and the likes punch so incredibly fast you have problems seeing all the punches when it's fast technicians in there.
Jones hand speed is still up there...it hasn't deteriorated greatly. It's his footwork and speed that's gone, that's why he's much more hittable now than he used to eb.
Sure ROy is faster than Mayweather. Head to head Judah was faster than Mayweather. Not that PBF is slow, he is fast there are just faster out there.
Thing about Roy is he would throw full power shots at his top speed. Some guys like SRL would have to drop their power when they throw those flurries but Roy was throwing KO combination with intentions on damage and not just show for the cameras.
